Cavender”) born November 5, 1844 in Union County, Georgia, married Christina Jane White ("Christina White") on April 1, 1877, moved to Missouri/Kansas, and died May 17, 1907 in Springfield, Missouri. Christina White was born October 5, 1859 in Fannin County, Georgia, and died June 20, 1940 in Springfield, Missouri. John Cavender and Christina Cavender had 4 children:

Hazel Viola Gross ("Hazel Gross") born May 2, 1900 in Aurora, Missouri, first married Vernon Bruce Curb ("Vernon Curb") about 1920, later married James Herbert White ("James White") in December 1926, and died December 1, 1933 in Albany County, Wyoming. Vernon Curb was born about 1900, and died about 1925. James White was born on October 5, 1903 in either Rock River, Wyoming or in Arlington, Carbon County, Wyoming420, was the son of Laura Lucretia Cavender ("Laura Cavender") and grandson of George Washington Cavender ("George Cavender"), and died March 15, 1986 in either Colorado or in Lakewood, Los Angeles, California. Cavender”, "James Cavender" & "Jim Cavender") born September 3, 1851 in Georgia, married Martha Ann Davis ("Martha Davis") on either January 28, 1875 or on January 24, 1875493 & 494 in Union County, Georgia with the ceremony being performed by Rev. Jefferson Davis, died May 15, 1908 at home in Gaddistown, Union County, Georgia by a self inflicted gunshot wound, and is buried along side his his wife and his mother and father in the family cemetery near Woody's Gap, Union County, Georgia. Martha Davis was born January 10, 1853, was the daughter of Rev. Jeff Davis, was the sister of Charles Ashbury Davis (“Charles Davis”), died January 21, 1953 at the age of 100 years and 11 days old, and is buried in the family cemetery on the family farm. A Jefferson Davis age 23 years married Gabrilla Cavender (“Gabriella Cavender”) age 19 years on December 20, 1853 in Independence County, Arkansas. FHL Number 1288645 Martha Davis told people for a long time that she would live to be 100 years old. Eleven days after she reached her goal, she walked up the stairs to her room and went to bed and died a few days later without again getting out of her bed. Charles Davis, the grandfather of Martha Davis, was the first settler and owner of the valley in which the "Mac-Glen" property of James Wilson McCallum ("James McCallum"), the great grandson of George Washington Cavender, the older brother of James Cavender. James Cavender and Martha Cavender had 5 children:

Rebecca Jane Cavender ("Rebecca Cavender", “Rebecca J. Cavender”, “R.J. Cavender” & “Rebecca Ann Cavender”?) born October 4, 1875, married Hiriam Juan Gurley ("Hiriam Gurley") on December 13, 1894 in Union County, Georgia with Justice of the Peace Mathew J. Ingram ("Mathew Ingram" & "Matthew Ingram") performing the ceremony, died February 7, 1977 in Union County, Georgia, and is buried in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Suches, Georgia. Hiriam Gurley was born on January 31, 1870, died on April 20, 1953, and is buried with his wife;

Joseph Wilson Cavender ("Joseph Cavender", “J.W. Cavender” & "Joe Cavender") born February 1, 1878, in Union County, Georgia?, married Sara Isabell Ledford ("Sara Ledford" & "Sarah Ledford"?) about 1900 in Baggs, Wyoming, and died on either September 5, 1919 or September 5, 1918426 when he was killed in action in France, at which time he had attained the rank of full Colonel. Sarah Ledford was born on June 8, 1877 in Union County, Georgia, was the daughter of Silas Ledford and Elizabeth Arminda Nee Bowling ("Arminda Bowling"), was the sister of Ida Katherine Ledford ("Ida Ledford") who was the wife of James Henry Cavender ("James Cavender" & “J.H. Cavender”), and died in February 1936 in Denver, Denver County, Colorado. Joseph Cavender grew up in Union County, Georgia and was already in Wyoming when Sally decided to go out west to visit her brother, John Ledford. Joseph Cavender was an officer in Baggs, Wyoming when he heard she was in the area and called on her and it wasn't long afterwards that they got married. Joseph Cavender and Sara Cavender ("Sarah Cavender"?) had a son named:

Joseph Wilson Cavender, Jr. ("Joseph Cavender" & “J.W. Cavender”) born on October 15, 1906, and resided in Spokane, Washington. Because of the army duties of his father, he saw very little of his father as he was growing up;

Nettie Lucretia Cavender (“Nettie L. Cavender”, "Nettie Lucressia Cavender", "Nettie Cavender", “N.L. Cavender” & "Utie Cavender") born either March 20, 1880 or on March 29, 1880420 & 426, married J.C. Hunt in Union County, Georgia on April 19, 1902, and died either on February 22, 1922 or on February 22, 1920420. J.C. Hunt and Nettie Hunt had a daughter named:

Grace Payne who married a Payne ("Grace Payne" & “Grace Hunt Payne”) who was born about 1900, and lived in Blairsville, Georgia;

William M. Cavender ("William Cavender" & “W.M. Cavender”) born March 11, 1883, never married, at one time lived in the 4th.. District of Coweta County, Georgia, never married, and died November 2, 1910 in Oklahoma; and,

John Felton Cavender ("John Cavender", “J.F. Cavender” & “John F. Cavender”) born December 23, 1885, never married, and died about 1920 at his home in Hahn's Park, Colorado;

(6) VASHTI ANN CAVENDER ("Vasti Cavender" & “V.A. Cavender”) born November 26, 1810 in the North Eastern part of Georgia, and married Samuel Montgomery on October 30, 1840 in Hall County, Georgia, and died after 1880 in Lumpkin County, Georgia. Samuel Montgomery had a brother named Hiram Montgomery who married Milchia Ann Cavender (“Milchia Cavender” & “M.A. Cavender”) on January 23, 1819 in Hall County, Georgia;

(7) GEORGE WASHINGTON CAVENDER ("George Cavender", “George W. Cavender”, "G.W. Cavender", "Washington Cavender" & "Watt Cavender") born January 17, 1813 in either Hall County, Georgia493 & 494 or in Dahlonaga, Lumpkin County, Georgia476, first married Nancy L. Garvin ("Nancy Garvin" & "Nancy Gavin") on either April 6, 1836511 or on April 26, 1836438 & 476in Hall County, Georgia, in 1840 was living in Walker County, Georgia, at which time he already had 2 children under 5 and owned a large amount of land on which was his home place was located and known as the "Henry Davis Place" built Henry Davis prior to 1740, died April 24, 1899 (some say April 24, 1889 476 & 493) in either Hall County, Georgia493 or in Peavine, Catoosa County, Georgia476, and is buried with his wife in the Peavine Cemetery behind Peavine Baptist Church in Chickamauga, Catoosa County, Georgia. Watt Cavender was a 2nd. lieutenant from Hall County in the Indian roundup and skirmishes on November 6, 1835. Nancy Garvin, the sister of Elizabeth Garvin, was born November 27, 1820 and died November 16, 1884 in Catoosa County, Georgia.

It is to be noted that his younger sister,Mary Angeline Cavender(“Mary Cavender” & “M.A. Cavender”) married William Garvin, the son of David Garvin born December 20, 1784 in Pendelton County, South Carolina and Nancy Kirksey born February 12, 1795 in North Carolina, and that his younger brother, Joseph Cavender, married Elizabeth Antoinette Garvin (Elizabeth Antonette Garvin", "Elizabeth Garvin" & “Eliabeth Carvin”) who is believed to be the sister of Nancy Garvin.

George Washington Cavender ("George Cavender") and Nancy Garvin Cavender ("Nancy Cavender") had 9 children:

(i) WILLIAM GARVIN CAVENDER ("William Cavender", “W.G. Cavender” & “William G. Cavender”) born on July 21, 1837, married Catherine K. Holland (“Katherine K. Holland”476, “Katherine Holland” & "Catherine Holland") on either November 27, 1857493 & 494 or on November 26, 1857476 in Whitfield County, Georgia, was living in Catoosa, Georgia in 1860 and in Whitfield County, Georgia in 1880 near his father, and died on May 10, 1890. Catherine Holland was born on March 24, 1840 in Pickens County, South Carolina, and was the daughter of John Benjamin Franklin Holland ("John Holland") born about 1821 and Penelope Kirksey born January 17, 1817, and she died on June 2, 1886. William Cavender and Catherine Cavender had 7 children:



N. Penelope Cavender ("Pentelope V. Cavender"?, “N.P. Cavender” &"Penelope Cavender") born about 1858-1859 in Georgia;

Alice E. Cavender ("Allice Cavender", “A.E. Cavender” & "Alice Cavender") born about 1860 in Georgia;

Catherine R. Cavender ("Catherine Cavender" & “C.R. Cavender) born about 1864 in Georgia;

Sarah F. Cavender (“Sarah Cavender” & “S.F. Cavender”) born about 1865;

Theodosia Cavender born about 1867 in Georgia;

George W. Cavender ("George Cavender", “G.W. Cavender” & "George Washington Cavender"?) born about 1872 in Georgia; and,

(ii) CLEMETH W. CAVENDER ("Clemeth Cavender", “C.W. Cavender” & "Clemith Cavender") born July 8, 1839 in Hall County, Georgia, remained unmarried, died July 8, 1839 and is buried in the Peavine Cemetery in Hall County, Georgia in the same cemetery as his mother and father;



(iii) CATHERINE REBECCA CAVENDER (“Katherine Rebecca Cavender”476, “Katherine Cavender”, “C.R. Cavender” & "Catherine Cavender") born on August 24, 1841 in Georgia, married Jasper Newton Gilbert (“Jasper Gilbert”), and died on November 23, 1929;

(iv) JOSEPH WARREN CAVENDER ("Joseph Cavender", “J.W. Cavender” & "Joseph W. Cavender") born on February 23, 1845 in Ringgold, Catoosa County, Georgia, first married Martha Almina Clements ("Martha Clements") on December 10, 1868 in Walker County, Georgia, later married Sarah Clemetine Chambers (“Sarah Chambers”) on December 25, 1892 and had no children by his second marriage, died on either July 18, 1919 or on July 17, 1919476 in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, and was buried in the Cavender Cemetery in Villanow, Walker County, Georgia in the Cavender Cemetery. Martha Clements was born November 11, 1849 in Villanow, Walker County, Georgia, was the daughter of Dr. Adam G. Clements ("Adam Clements") and Mary Wilson Hill Park ("Mary Park" & "Wilson Park"), died on either November 15, 1882 or on December 15, 1882 in Villanow, Walker County, Georgia, and is buried with her husband. Sarah Chambers was born on July 1, 1851, and died on March 1, 1911. Joseph Cavender and Martha Cavender ("Almina Cavender") had 7 children:



Lula Belle Cavender ("Lula Cavender", Mary B. Cavender”, “Mary Belle Cavender” & “Mary Cavender”) born September 25, 1869 in Villanow, Walker County, Georgia, died February 20, 1870 in Villanow, Walker County, Georgia, and was buried in the Cavender Cemetery in Villanow, Walker County, Georgia;

Minerva Catherine Cavender (“Minerva Cavender” & "Minnie Cavender") born January 12, 1872 in Villanow, Walker County, Georgia, married Wade Hampton Warrenfells ("Wade Warrenfells") either September 17, 1900 or on October 17, 1900476 in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee, and died on June 24, 1952 in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee. Wade Warrenfels was born on November 11, 1868 in Maryland, and died on July 21, 1939. Wade Warrenfells and Myrtis Warrenfells had a son named:

Joseph Melville Warrenfells ("Joseph Warrenfells") who was born in Tennessee about 1904, and married Margaret Rebecca Norton (“Margaret Norton”). Joseph Warrefells and Margaret Warrenfells (“Rebecca Warrenfells”) had 3 children:

Lee Shahan was born on February 6, 1875 in Villanow, Walker County, Georgia, died on January 29, 1915 in Hamilton County, Tennessee, and is buried in the Forrest Hills Cemetery in St. Elmo, Hamilton County, Tennessee.
