Gloucester County Pt. 1

ShopRite (Pixel 109, 66)

In GLO-1’s pixel with the highest number of originating trips, we find a ShopRite (not very glamorous).

Total AVO: 1.03

The potential for ridesharing at this location isn’t fantastic. The huge spike in aTaxi departures as the day goes on isn’t mirrored by an increased willingness to share rides (take a look at the graph’s y-axis). The unimodal rise in the departure graph during evening rush hour does correspond with the rise (though small) in the AVO per hour during that same time.

The above two graphs are more of what we expected, though it’s worth noting that the frequency of the number of miles passengers and taxis travel from this pixel is more dense after the morning hours.

These graphs also show that it would be tough to justify ridesharing at this ShopRite in this pixel because you can literally count on one hand the number of times more than 3 people are willing to share rides, even during the supposed “rush hour” the first graph shows.
