Flower Essences -- Pennyroyal

Does the world seem like it is in chaos? Pennyroyal flower essence can help to bring order to personal confusion. However this may only be the beginning.

According to the Buddha, one can contribute to world peace by first ordering one's life. After that, it is possible to order one's family, neighborhood, town, province, country – and finally the world. Research by Saskia's Flower Essences, located in the United Kingdom, points to pennyroyal flower essence alleviating confusion, bringing a new dimension to this powerful flower essence that has been used most often to cleanse negativity.

Christine Felce and Saskia Marjoram, creator's of Saskia's Flower Essences, located in The United Kingdom have much new information to deliver about pennyroyal, an essence commonly used in the flower essence community to cleanse auras. Their work with the essence points to another level of new uses for this elixir.

Pennyroyal May Alleviate Confusion

If pennyroyal can alleviate confusion, it surely has myriad applications. They range from clearing personal confusion to aiding in the learning process and may address disorders such as dyslexia, according to Felce and Marjoram.

Pennyroyal, the Great Balancer

In addition, pennyroyal shows promise in helping to curb addictions. According to Marjoram, "Pennyroyal has often come up for people who have an addictive personality, for boys who are scared of showing their soft/intuitive side," She notes the essence's usefulness for women who must engage their "strong" side, perhaps as a function of participating in a very yang society. She notes that most people who use pennyroyal have been given it as a gift, rather than purchasing it themselves.

Chive Flower has a long reputation as being a male / female balancer; however, it appears that pennyroyal may function in a subtly different way through allowing the female aspect of the self to bloom and flourish.

Pennyroyal Essence for Feelings of Not Being Good Enough

In a world of conflicting messages, most people have received the message of "not being good enough" at some time. Many people confront this message routinely, resulting in a battered psyche. Another facet of pennyroyal elixir appears to be the ability to bring clarity to this dysfunctional societal message.

Seven Years and Counting

Felce and Marjoram began their company seven years ago, after having positive results using other people's essences. Both essence makers have a long history of working with flowers: Felce is a certified homeopath, while Marjoram has been a florist. Their first essence was Nan's Polyanthus. Their current essence line features sparkling elixirs of more than thirty flowers, including pennyroyal.

They see flower essences as personally and therapeutically chameleonic. That is, while Felce and Marjoram have mapped new applications for pennyroyal, and others have used it for clear crystals and auras, it very possible that pennyroyal and all other essences adapt to the user, giving the those taking the drops whatever the soul of the flower can provide. With nearly seven billion people on Earth, it is possible that pennyroyal and its kin elixirs speak as many individualized languages.

Seed Essences' Project Expands Vibrational Horizons

Seed essences are the newest arrival to the world of vibrational essences. Unlike better known flower essences, these elixirs stimulate one's potential.

In a vibrational essence world that includes flower, gem, star/planetary/ galactic, shell, animal, and environmental essences, seed essences represent a new facet for study.

According to Simon France of Aquarius Flower Remedies in The United Kingdom, these essences stimulate one's internal seed, dormant positive energies, and potentialities. Heading research into this field, France does not claim to be the founder of seed essences, per se. However, he is pioneering in making a systematic study of essences made from diverse seeds. His work is anchored in the ethers at SeedEssences.com

Seed Essences Diverge from Flower Essences

France explains some of the differences between seed and flower essences, the closest kin of seed elixirs. "Their uses are more concise and concentrated." In fact, it's believed that seeds hold zones of potential energy.

In a unique move, France gives directions for anyone to make seed essences on his website. He also encourages his fellow seed essence makers to contribute their efforts to the project, in a decidedly democratic fashion. His bank of essences currently comprises the following seeds:

  • aquilegia

  • bugloss

  • buttercup

  • chives

  • red and white clover

  • dandelion

  • goat's beard

  • goose grass

  • gorse

  • groundsel

  • ivy-leaved toadflax

  • marigold

  • Mexican fleabane

  • red campion

  • rosemary

  • shepherd's purse

  • sour thistle

  • speedwell

  • valerian

France notes that it is not critical to use organic seeds; however, he stresses that the essence maker should gather the seeds personally. It is important that seeds cover the surface of a clear water bowl without markings. Seeds will sink, if one adds too many, and if one uses too few, the essence may be weak. For complete details on making seed essentials, see the directions on France's website.

Seed Essences for the World

The nature of France's project points to a fresh thesis in vibrational essence making: that is, everyone can make them. While most people will prefer purchasing ready-made essences, this initiative is of great potential benefit to desperately poor areas of the world, and other areas that need vast doses of vibrational energy to heal environmental abuse.

In zones of the planet where famine is an issue, abundance essences such as rice and bean seeds may offer hope to raise the vibrations of entire communities. The seeds needed to make the essences will be found locally, in most cases. The essences can be made cheaply and distributed en masse to groups/ tribes.

In cases where environmental healing is needed, such as areas of the world devastated by global warming, essences such as comfrey, yarrow, and pennyroyal can help restore elemental integrity. Again, seeds that are native to the devastated sites may be of greatest use, initially.

As with the use of all vibrational essences, results can be subtle, moderate, or dramatic. Vibrational therapies operate over time, meaning that one essence may cease to function, when another is needed. Thus, their perfected use requires old world patience and new age enlightenment.

Cornucopia Berry Dessert Soup

Cold berry soup makes a versatile and surprising summer dessert. Choose a selection of sweet berries, or if using tart ones, add maple syrup to taste.

Make this soup with a one pound bag of frozen year berries, all year long. But when fresh berries are in season, mix a pound of some or all of the following:

  • blueberries

  • strawberries

  • raspberries

  • cape gooseberries (strawberry tomatoes or pineapple cherry tomatoes.)

  • gooseberries

  • blackberries

  • honeyberries

  • mulberries (white, red, or purple)

Good Berry Combinations

  • blueberries and honeyberries

  • strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries

  • yellow raspberries and gooseberries

  • mulberries and raspberries

  • cape gooseberries and strawberries

  • blackberries and strawberries

  • cape gooseberries and cherries

  • strawberry spinach berries, strawberries, and cherries

  • Small kiwis, Saskatoon blueberries, and blueberries

  • white fraises des bois and white mulberries

  • yellow fraises des bois and yellow raspberries

  • yellow, white, and red fraises des bois

While cherries are not berries, they make a wonderful additional to the soup. They tend to be more reliably sweet than many berries and can cut down on a need for sweetner in this recipe.

Recipe for Cornucopia Berry Soup

  • 1 pound mixed berries or grapes, frozen or in season

  • 1/2 cup black cherry juice

  • 1/2 cup whipping cream

  • 1/2 cup sweetened vanilla yogurt

  • 1 tsp. grated orange peel

  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon

  • Sweeten as necessary.

Combine the six ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. Pour into serving bowl and chill. Top with additional fresh berries and chopped mint.

Today's Exotic Berries

If one lives near a very good farmer's market, some of the more exotic berries may be available. Most are easy to grow in temperate climates. So if patience is a virtue, it is worthwhile planting some of the hard to find berries this year. Is it worth it? Well, ever wonder what a Saskatoon blueberry tastes like? It has a different spiciness than ordinary blueberries with overtones of almond, and tangy cherry.

Honeyberries, a member of the honeysuckle family, look like long blueberries and offer a palatable perfume all of their own.

How About Grapes?

Choose seedless grapes when making this soup. Go for the organic varieties, and do not peel them. Rather make sure that the skins get completely pulverized in the blender. Allow the healthy grape skins to fortify the dessert. Mix or match the following grape varieties for a soup that could be wine!

  • Reliance (purple)

  • Himrod (golden yellow)

  • Concord (deep purple and very familiar)

  • Glenora (nearly black)

  • Vanessa (reddish violet)

  • Interlaken (amber)

A Quick Spa-Quality Dessert Soup

The whipping cream gives this soup a sense of liquid sorbet, while low-fat vanilla yogurt tempers the dietary extravagance of heavy cream and adds tartness. Cherry juice is luxurious and available in many grocery and health food stores.

Speedier and healthier than homemade ice-cream, and completely oven-free, this dessert is table ready in an hour, bringing an aura of spa cuisine to an outdoor supper or holiday barbecue.
