| Make up labs: Make up labs will be given only for written, excused absences with the permission of the instructor and at the discretion of the Teaching Assistant. Unexcused lab absences are automatically entered as a zero. YOU are responsible for informing the instructor and TA if any conflicts do arise. We will not chase after you!!! Any material/ labs/ reports or quizzes missed due to an excused absence, that are not completed before the materials are handed back to the rest of the class will be entered as zeros. In many instances, we only have enough reagents for the lab to run one night. If you miss a lab night, understand that there is a chance you will have to take a “0” for the labs if there are not enough reagents to spare!
Late assignments will be subject to a ten percent point reduction per day past the date due. The point reduction will be waived under specific circumstances accompanied by a written excuse authorized by the college (i.e. personal sickness, family deaths, etc.). For more information regarding authorized excuses, consult the Student Handbook. Extra Credit: In the interest of fairness to all class members, no extra credit assignments will be given. So don’t even ask! Do not try to negotiate your grade. This tactic is not fair to the other members of the class who have been working hard all semester. I am available; however, to assist you with any problems and I can also help find tutors within the ASC or outside the college if you have a special need. Attendance: On-time and every-day attendance is required in this course; each unexcused absence will result in a ten-point reduction of your overall class points. After a 30-point reduction, your name will be dropped from the class role. Excused or not, you are responsible for all notes, materials, and lab work from the missed class. Download 101.5 Kb.
