1. Select one area in your business or personal life where you need to make a decision involving time, money, and long-term consequences. Resolve to find out every detail of the decision before you take action. Accept nothing on faith. Ask others. Seek out one or more people who might have had your same situation or problem, and request their advice. Seek the fatal flaw in one area where you need to make a decision to go forward or not.
Always assume that one exists.

Turning Points
Throughout your life, you will have a series of turning points. These are moments, insights, or experiences that can take a few seconds or a few months. But after one of these turning points, your life is never the same again.
Sometimes you recognize one of these turning points when it takes place. Inmost cases, you only recognize that it was a turning point in retrospect. As you look back on your life, you often remember small things that happened to which you paid little attention, but the consequences of

these events changed you in someway and had an influence on the person you are today.
One of the major turning points in my life, and in the lives of most successful people, was my discovery of goals. I was twenty-four years old,
broke, unskilled, and working as a door-to-door salesman, selling very little,
earning very little, and sleeping on the floor of a friend’s one-room apartment. Then I discovered goals.
