Group 1
Title: Penny on a card experiment
Materials needed: a small plastic cup/ mug, a card, coin
Procedure:
1. Plot a card on top of the plastic cup
2. Put a coin on top of the card
3. With a sharp flick, hit the card out from under the coin or pull it really quick towards you.
4. The coin will drop into the cup.
Analysis:
• What happens to the coin after the card was pulled?

  • Why do you think the coin dropped as soon as the card was hit?

  • What Law of Newton is referred in the experiment?

• How does this law work in the experiment?
Group 2
Short Scenario
Problem:
John and David are siblings. John is 7 years old while David is 17. One day, the two decided to play soccer. On the same starting point, David can kick the ball twice farther than John. John cried and is shaking his brother why he can’t kick the same as him. If you are David, how are you going to explain it to your brother?




Group 3
Motion Pictures

Students will observe a GIF (a lossless format for image files that supports both animated and static images) in a cellphone and answer the following questions:



  • H ow do present day rockets travel?

  • How can one law of motion by Newton be applied by the swimmers for them to win the race?

  • How does octopus move in water?

  • What Law of Motion according to Newton is described in these three GIFs?



Group 4
Simple Balloon Experiment
Procedure:

  1. Obtain a piece of rubber balloon.

  2. Blow the balloon to its maximum capacity.

  3. Afterwards, automatically release the balloon and observe.



Questions:

  • What happened to the balloon after you released the opening?

  • Why do you think this happened?

  • What law of motion according to Newton is present in this activity?
