JONES, Addie Kathleen Lindamood, 99, of Wytheville, passed away on Friday,
December 15, 2000, at the Edgemont Center in Wytheville. She was born in
Wythe County, Va., on June 15, 1901, the youngest daughter of the late
Gordon Robert Lindamood and Kate C. Lindamood. She was a member of the Cedar
Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh
Stuart Jones; her daughter, Rachel Ann Jones Johnson; her son-in-law,
William E. Johnson, Jr.; a sister, Loretta Lindamood Jones; her brothers,
Gardner Cassell Lindamood, Stephen Lindamood, and Lewis Walker Lindamood.
She is survived by her daughter, Addie Kathleen Jones of Wytheville; a niece
and husband, Loretta Lindamood and Kenneth S. Hicks, Jr., of Salem; two
nephews and wives, Bernard Madison (Jim) and Vangie Lindamood of Golden,
Colorado, and Douglas Miller and Bonnie Mabe Lindamood of Blue Ridge; three
stepdaughters, Florene J. Wade of Wytheville, Ethel J. Shelton of Vienna,
and Evelyn J. Smith of Bennetsville, S.C.; two stepsons, Albert L. Jones,
and George K. Jones, both of Wytheville; and other relatives and friends
survive. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2000, at
the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Carbary officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mt. Mitchell United
Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c / o Mrs. Dolly Pugh, 5079 Stoney Fork
Road, Wytheville, Va. 24382. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2
p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home prior to the service. It is respectfully
requested by the family that no visitation of food be brought to the home.
Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, is in charge of arrangements.

PASSES AWAY AT PULASKI HOSPITAL
Mrs. Sarah E. JONES, aged 43, wife of G.W. Jones, died late yesterday afternoon at the Pulaski hospital, where she was removed just one week before for treatment for complications.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 o’clock from the Baptist church at Gunton Park, the body to be taken by motor conveyance, leaving the late home in East Pulaski. Interment will be in the family burying ground.
The deceased is survived by her husband, who is employed by Norfolk and Western, and these children, Minnie E., John W., Rosa L., George R., Earl E., Stella V., and Lawrence E. JONES. She is also survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank JONES of Gunton Park.

Miss Sarah R. JONES, formally of Pulaski, died Thursday morning in Roanoke.

She is survived by several nieces, including Mrs. W. O. SMITH, and a nephew all of Roanoke. Miss JONES was a member of Episcopal Church, Pulaski.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, at 2 p.m. in Oakwood Cemetery. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 o’clock from the Baptist church at Gunton Park, the body to be taken by motor conveyance, leaving the late home in East Pulaski. Interment will be in the family burying ground.

Services Are Held at Baptist Church Gunton Park

The body of Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth JONES, wife of George JONES, who died Saturday at the Pulaski hospital, was taken to Gunton Park Sunday, where she was buried in the family graveyard. The funeral was held in the Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. T. M. BANE.


Pall bearers were: J. L. CRAIG, J. A. FARMER, Earl FARMER, Rayo HOWLETTE, W. KEGLEY and Hampton WHEELING, of Pulaski. The flower girls were Misses Rosa Lee JONES, Daisey NELSON, Virginia WHEELING, Louise KEGLEY, Fairy QUESENBERRY, Evelyn NELSON, Iva FAGG, Nellie HUDSON, Mrs. HOWELETT, Mrs. COWAN, of Pulaski, and Misses Anne COLLINS of Gunton Park.

The deceased is survived by her husband, and the following children: Minnie, Rose, Stella, John, George, Earl and Lawrence. Two children died in infancy. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank JONES of Gunton Park, there are three sisters, Mrs. May BRINKLEY, of Wytheville; Mrs. Robert JONES of Kenner, Ky., and Mrs. Bessie RAINES of Gunton Park, and two brothers, W. A. JONES, of Coalwood W. Va., and Jas. JONES, of Pulaski, also survive.



Out-of-town relatives and friends at the funeral were: Mr. And Mrs. Bob JONES and children of Kenner, Ky; W. A. JONES of Coalwood, W. Va.; Mr. And Mrs. Otho SNIDER, Mr. And Mrs. J. CHINAULT, Mr. And Mrs. J. KIDD, of Max Meadows; Grover COWAN, of Morristown, Tennessee; Mrs. Bessie RAINES of Gunton Park; Mr. And Mrs. I. W. BRINKLEY, Charles and Roy BRINKLEY of Wytheville.

JONES, Rosa Lena, 88, of Dublin, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at Skyline Manor
Nursing Home, Floyd. She was born April 6, 1913 in Grayson County, Va. the
daughter of the late Roy and Belle Brewer. In addition to her parents, she
was also preceded in death by her husband, John Ralph Jones; a son-in-law,
Sherley O. Manning; brothers, James, Fenley, Willie and John Brewer. She is
survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, William Rex and Kaye Jones,
Daniel Ralph and Claudine Jones, Roger Dale and Barbara Jones, all of
Dublin; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary L. and Douglas Collins,
Pulaski, Virginia A. Manning, Dublin, Nancy and Larry Quesenberry of Floyd;
one sister, Bessie Pyle of Arlington, Texas; 21 grandchildren; and ten
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at French's
Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Billy Akers and the Rev.
John Hash officiating. Burial in the Memorial Christian Church Cemetery,
Draper. Visitation will be Thursday after 1 p.m. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral
Home, White Gate and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Kenley Roby Jones, 89, formerly of Dublin, died Monday night at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Shawsville. Born Mar 16, 1886, in Grayson County, he was the son of the late Steven Saunders Jones and Juklia Vaughn Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife Lula Dalton Jones. He is survived by six daughter, Mrs. Frances Parks and Nellie J. Dalton, both of Pulaski, Mrs. Phyllis Williams of Radford, and Mrs. Beulah Kerr, Mrs. Julia Morris and Mrs. Carrie Jennelle, all of Pearisburg; five sons, Boyd Jones, Ralph Jones, Coy W. Jones, and Kenneth L. Jones, all of Pulaski, and Lonnie Jones of Pearisburg; one sister, Mrs. Lula Quesenberry of Pulaski; 24 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Thorn Spring United Methodist Church with the Rev. Julian Walton and the Rev. Fred A. Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Thorn Spring Cemetery. Charles L. Jones, a well known young businessman of East Pualski, died Tuesday evening at 7:20 o'clock in a Roanoke Hospital. The news of his death was conveyed shortly afterwards to relatives here. Desperately ill for several days though with a fighting chance, yesterday his condition indicated a change for the worst and relatives left on No. 12 in response to a message advising them. The end came shortly after their arrival. The body accompanied by those with him at the end, arrived today in Pualski on No. 11 and was taken to his home to await burial. The funeral will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from hi late home in east Pulaski, followed by internment in Oakwood cemetery. The Junior Order, of which he was a member, will have charge of the burial service. Mr. Jones had been in failing health for more than a year due to complications. At times he would suffer severe attacks. Tuesday of last week he was taken to the hospital in Roanoke and on Thursday submitted to an operation, but without avail, though it was the only hope. The deceased was the son of T.P. Jones and with his father had for a number of years engaged in the merchantile business in East Pulaski. He was a young man with many friends. He married Miss Neo Flinchum, daughter of J.C. Flinchum, who survived with one son, Lyons. One child died in infancy. His father, three sisters, Mrs. B.L. Owen and Mrs. P.L. Flinchum of Pualski and Mrs. Pierce Collins of Norfolk and one brother, Herman of Pulaski also survive. He was a member of the Junior Order and the Oaks

JONES, Ruby Hall, 92, of Draper, died Sunday morning, April 30, 2000 in the
Pulaski Community Hospital. Born July 18, 1907 in Pulaski, she was the
daughter of the late Minnie Graham Hall and Joseph Albert Hall. She was a
member of the Pulaski Presbyterian Church in America ans was a nurse at
Pulaski General Hospital for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her
husband John Wesley Jones; three sons, Billy Marzelle Jones, James D. Jones,
and Jack W. Jones; and 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by a
daughter, Katherine Edwards, Draper; and a son, Donald C. Jones, Hopewell.
Also survived by 15 grandchildren including two special grandchildren, Karen
Davis, Pulaski, and Patty Gravely, Lenoir, N.C., and many
great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m.
at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons with the Rev. Rusty Whitener officiating.
Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. Visiting will be
anytime after 2 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons where the family will
receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy
may be made in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society New
River Valley Unit, P.O. Box 554, Roanoke, Va., 24003-0554.

Scott Clay Jones, 33, of Max Meadows, Va., died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at his home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Chapel in Pulaski, Va., with the Rev. Steve Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Dublin Cemetery.

He was born May 16, 1969, in Radford, Va. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea.

He is survived by his wife, Angela Jones of Max Meadows, Va.; two daughters, Lauran Kay and Kearsten Hallie, both of Max Meadows, Va.; one son, Joshua Clay of Christiansburg, Va.; his mother, Connie Parks Day of Pulaski, Va.; his father, Paul Douglas Manuel of Pulaski, Va.; two sisters, Lori Hale of Dublin, Va., and Natasha Porath of Pulaski, Va.; grandparents, Henry and Helen Parks of Pulaski, Va., and Helen F. Manuel of Ivanhoe, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski, Va.

morning, December 17, 2002, at his home. He was born in Radford on May 16,
1969. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Surviving
are his wife, Angela Jones of Max Meadows; two daughters, Lauran Kay and
Kearsten Hallie of Max Meadows; son, Joshua Clay of Christiansburg; mother,
Connie Parks Day of Pulaski; father and stepmother, Paul Douglas and Connie
Manuel of Pulaski; two sisters, Lori Hale of Dublin and Natasha Porath of
Pulaski; grandparents, Henry and Helen Parks of Pulaski, Helen Manuel of
Ivanhoe; stepsister, Kimberly Draper; stepbrother, Jeffrey Manuel; half
brother, John Manuel, all of Pulaski; nieces and nephews. Funeral service
will be held Friday at 1 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve
Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the Dublin Cemetery. Visiting was

JORDAN, Fred, 77, of Christiansburg, died Thursday, January 22, 1998, in a Roanoke hospital. He is survived by his wife, Katie W. Jordan; daughters and son-in-law, Doris and James Waddell of Rowlett, Texas, Patricia McCall of Christiansburg and Bonita Bland of Salem; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott Jordan and Susan Sowers of Christiansburg, Robert Fred Jordan Jr. and Connie of Mechanicsville and Phillip and Melissa Jordan of Texas; grandsons, Jacob McCall of Christiansburg, Merle Jordan and Fletcher Jordan, both of Texas, Fred Jordan III and Tony Jordan of Mechanicsville; granddaughters, Tracy Harless of Elliston, Monica Wilkerson and Diane Jordan of North Carolina; a stepson, Robert H. Myers of Roanoke; a great-grandson, T. J. Wilkerson, and a niece, Louise Yates of Blacksburg. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January, 24, 1998, at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. M. C. Sutphin, with burial in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Services were handled by Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.

Harry B. Keesee, aged 47 years, died Sunday night at Portsmouth following a heart attack. Mr. Keesee had been employed in the Portsmouth Navy yard since April. He is survived by his wife, who before marriage was Miss Callie Belcher, and by two daughters, Mrs. D. C. Arney and Mrs. R. C. Brewer, of Bluefield, WV. and one grandchild. There also survives the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. W.V. Bourne, of Bluefield, WV. Mrs. LF. Gregory, Bluefield; Mrs. J. R. Catron of Beckley, W. V.; Mrs. G.R. Gregory, of Gratton and Oscar S. Keesee, of Norfolk. Mr. Keesee was a native of Pulaskie, Va. Funeral services were held from the home in Bluefield, WV. on Wednesday, in charge of the Rev. Ben S. Johnson assisted by Revs. J. T. Browning and G.W. Collins.

KEFFER, Edna Hedge, 89, formerly of Blacksburg, Va., and a resident of
Imperial Plaza Retirement Community, Richmond, Va., widow of Perry L.
Keffer, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 7, 2001. She is
survived by four sons, Tony W. Keffer and his wife Sandra of Moneta, Charles
H. Keffer and his wife Sondra of Richmond, Johnny W. Keffer and his wife
Beatrice of Charlottesville, Earl L. Keffer of Denver, Colo.; one daughter,
Patricia K. Phelps and her husband Henry of Mechanicsville, Va.; two
sisters, Dorothy H. Kirby and her husband John of Dublin, Va., Stella H.
Wagoner of Fairlawn, Va.; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mrs.
Keffer was born in Radford, Va., one of nine children born of the Rev.
Jessie Wade and Fairy Belle Hedge. She grew up on a farm in Wythe County and
when she married, she and her husband, Perry, settled in Blacksburg, Va., to
start a family. They made their home there for 26 years before moving to
Richmond in 1960. She later went to work for the Miller & Rhoads Department
store in downtown Richmond and spent the next 10 years there. She loved
meeting new people and really enjoyed her work there and the friendships
that ensued over the years. She retired in 1970 and she and her beloved
Perry spent the next 14 years working in the church, traveling, and enjoying
the fruits of their many years of labor. Mr. Keffer passed on in 1984 after
their 51 years of marriage, but she continued with her work in the church.
Her membership at the Ray of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church in Richmond
spanned 40 years, during which time she had served the Lord as a Women's
Auxiliary Officer, Sunday School and Bible school teacher, along with other
responsibilities. She and Mr. Keffer, until his passing, were active in
supporting the church's sponsored orphanage in Falcon, N.C., with annual
food, money, and clothing drives for the young residents of the home, and
usually made the annual trek along with others to Falcon each Thanksgiving
to deliver the donated gifts. She and Mr. Keffer, who was honored by the
church as a Deacon Emeritus, were asked from time to time to represent the
church as delegates to the denomination's Annual Convention. Remains rest at
Woody's Parham Chapel, 1771 Parham Road, Richmond. The family will receive
visitors Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6:30
