Join us on an excursion to discover the natural sceneries of the lagoon of the “Stagnone”, the most important and biggest lagoon in Sicily, an area declared regional natural reserve. A 1-hour coach drive will take you to the embarcadero from where your boat exploration begins, admiring its four islands; among them Mothia is the most important. Your guide will give you explanations of the islands as you take this gentle cruise on the lagoon water. Once on the land again you will board a coach to reach the town of Marsala and a winery for a delightful session of the famous Marsala wine.

Excursion to discover the ancient Phoenician colony of Mothia, located on San Pantaleo island, in the lagoon of the “Stagnone”. A 1-hour coach drive will take you to the embarcadero from where you will sail to Mothia, founded by the Phoenicians. Mothia was extremely powerfull till its destruction in 397 BC under Dionysius tyrant of Siracuse. Walking on the island you will visit the museum and admire the marble statue “Giovinetto di Mozia”, dating back to the V century BC., Greek and Phoenicin pottery and jewels. The visit will continue to the House of Mosaics and to the city gates before re-boarding the boat to reach your coach and the town of Marsala. Enjoy a a delightful session of the famous Marsala wine and taste some typical Sicilian biscuits.
