  1. Master Speaker Level: This control adjusts the output of the integrated amplifier and affects all speakers connected to the FS-03. This should be a “set & forget” level for teleconferencing purposes.

  2. Power Connection: The power transformer provides 27 Volts AC to theFS-03, and is detachable via a 5-pin DIN connector. The FS-03 has two internal ‘self-resetting’ fuses (there are no user serviceable parts inside the unit). If the internal fuses are triggered, they will re-set after a short period.

  3. Speakers 1-6: Each speaker requires a “homerun” connection to the FS-03. The speaker outputs are designed for the CTG SP-01 speaker module. Other 8-ohm speakers may be used to obtain higher performance with program audio sources such as DVD players or other high fidelity devices.

  1. Amplifier Remote Level Control: The amplifier remote volume control is for adjusting the internal amplifier of the FS-03 remotely. This level adjustment is typically used to raise or lower the volume of program audio sources.

  2. Teleconference Out (to codec): This output feeds a line level input of a codec. The corresponding level trim pot may be adjusted to assure the proper send level is transmitted to the far end(s) of a video call.

  3. Teleconference Out (to telephone interface): This output feeds the line level input of an audio telephone interface. The corresponding level trim pot may be adjusted to assure the proper send level is transmitted to the far end(s) of an audio call.

  4. Teleconference In (from codec): This input connects to the line output of a video codec. This level may be adjusted with the corresponding trim pot.

  5. Teleconference In (From telephone interface): This input connects to an audio telephone interface. This level may be adjusted with the corresponding trim pot.

  6. Link Port: (RS-232 control): The link port provides common control of multiple FS-03 systems. To enable this feature the link button must be depressed (in) on the primary FS- 03. The Link Port of the primary FS-03 connects to the Serial Port of the second FS-03.

  7. Serial Port: (RS-232 control): This 9-pin Sub-D (male) connector provides an RS-232 serial port for remote control via third-party control systems.

  8. Logic Inputs: This 9-pin Sub-D (female) connector provides eight logic inputs for recalling presets stored in the FS-03 via contact-closures. The logic inputs are used to recall factory-stored configurations.

  9. Logic Outputs: This 9-pin Sub-D connector provides logic outputs from Channels 1-8. Logic Outputs may be used to control external switching circuits, such as relays.

  10. Expansion Ports: The expansion ports permit two FS-03 control units to be linked together and function as one system for larger rooms. The Link Ports may also be used for control of both units through a single device.

  11. Auxiliary Input (Looped to speakers): These line level inputs are designed for program audio sources to be heard locally in the room and will also be sent to the distant end(s) of a teleconference.

  12. Channels 1-8: Channels 7 & 8 are assignable to mic or line level through the logic inputs. (Please see chart P.15) Up to eight CTG microphones may be connected to the FS-03 when these channels are set to mic level. Line level devices will be heard locally in the room and will be sent to the telephone interface and/or video codec.

Choosing a Configuration
The FS-03 ships pre-configured with 8 configurations accommodating various room conditions and peripheral equipment.

Preset 1 (default): This preset provides connection for up to 8 CTG microphones and 2 auxiliary devices. The microphones will sound extremely natural taking full advantage of 7K and 14K audio compression.

Preset 2 This preset provides connection for up to 8 CTG microphones and 2 auxiliary devices as in preset 1, however; the signal processing is more aggressive for rooms with challenging acoustics. It still takes advantage of 7K and 14K audio compression.
Preset 3 (additional program sources): This preset provides connection for up to 6 CTG microphones and 4 auxiliary devices. The microphones will sound extremely natural taking full advantage of 7K and 14K audio compression.

Preset 4 (additional program sources with challenging acoustics): This preset provides connection for up to 6 CTG microphones and 4 auxiliary devices as in preset 3, however; the signal processing is more aggressive for rooms with challenging acoustics. It still takes advantage of 7K and 14K audio compression.
Preset 5 (separate rooms): This preset allows a combined room to be split into two rooms and have each room operate independently. Up to 5 CTG microphones and 2 auxiliary devices may be connected to the system. A CTG FS-02 or FS-03 may be used as the “slave” system in the second room. If two FS-03s are connected the expansion ports should not be connected. The line outputs from the telephone interface and the codec will be connected as shown below. The microphones will sound extremely natural taking full advantage of 7K and 14K audio compression. This preset should be used in conjunction with preset 6 (below) to combine rooms.
** Custom room combine configurations are available through CTG technical support
