Dialling Procedures

Notes

1 When calling Sao Tome and Principe from other countries it is necessary to prefix the subscriber number with the

digits '12'.

2 The '0' is used on all domestic calls, including in the same city, but is omitted when dialling to France from other

countries.

3 When dialling from Ireland to Nothern Ireland, the area code may be prefixed by '080' instead of '0044'.

4 In Comoros Islands, the subscriber numbers begin with digit '7'.

5 When dialling from San Marino to Italy, the complete national subscriber number must be used, without prefixing

the number by '0039'.

6 When dialling from Italy to San Marino, the subscriber number must be prefixed by '0549' instead of '00378'.

7 A few exceptions exist where the maximum length of the national (significant) number is 9 digits.

8 Including Australia Antartic Territory Bases, Christmas Island and Norfolk Island (international prefix for Norfolk

Island is '0101').

9 When dialling from Malaysia to Singapore, the subscriber number must be prefixed by '02' instead of '0065'.

10 When dialling from Singapore to Malaysia, the area code and subscriber number must be prefixed by '020'

instead of '00160'.

11 For calls from one Inmarsat terminal to another, the '00' prefix is followed by the country code (871 to 874) and

the terminal number followed by '#'.

12 Includes also Cocos-Keeling Islands.

13 Reserved for the Palestinian Authority.

14 When calling Aruba from other countries it is necessary to prefix the subscriber number with the digit '8' for

regular telephone subscriber. For calls to cellular subscribers, use the six digit subscriber number without the

prefix '8'.

15 International prefixes: 001, 0033, 0041, 0061, 0071, 0075, 0078, 0082.

16 The country code listed is for future use (Vatican is currently using '39').

17 Subscriber numbers on the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) consist of 5 digits and those on the

mobile network consist of 8 digits.

18 Operator code Telecom Malagasy 20.

19 When dialling from Tanzania to Kenya the national (significant) number must be prefixed by 005 and for Uganda

it must be prefixed by 006.
