Career Highlights:Bode Miller is considered the greatest American alpine skier of all time, as he is an Olympic and World Championship gold medalist and a two-time overall World Cup champion (2005 & 2008)...With 32 total World Cup victories, Miller is the most successful American alpine skier ever, passing the great Phil Mahre...His 2008 title helped lead the U.S. ski team to sweep both the men’s and women’s overall World Cup titles for the first time in 25 years, as Lindsey Vonn also won the woman’s title...Known for his speed and risk-taking approach, Miller became the fifth man to win World Cup races in all five disciplines (slalom, giant slalom, Super G, downhill and combined) and is the only ski racer in history to win five World Cup races in each of the five alpine disciplines…Miller has won five Olympic medals, the most by any U.S. skier, including three at the 2010 Vancouver games – a gold (super combined), a silver (Super G) and a bronze (downhill)…At the Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002, Miller claimed two silvers (giant slalom and combined)...He also competed for the U.S. at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy…Miller won the gold medal in both the downhill and the giant slalom at the 2006 U.S. National Championships...In 2005 Miller became the first American skier in 22 years to win the prestigious Alpine skiing World Cup overall title...He finished the 2004-05 World Cup season with seven victories and won the World Cup super G title for the 2004-05 season when he tied teammate Daron Rahlves for first place in the final super G race of the season…Miller captured gold medals in the downhill and super G at the 2005 World Alpine Ski Championship in Bormio, Italy…He accomplished what only two other men have done in the history of Alpine skiing World Cup by leading the overall standings from the season’s start to finish…His other career accomplishments include the 2003-04 World Cup giant slalom title, six World Cup victories in 2004, two gold medals and a silver medal at the 2003 World Alpine Ski Championships, and six U.S. National Championships gold medals…He started skiing at age three and began competing at 11…Miller wrote a book titled “Bode:Go Fast, Be Good, Have Fun.”
