Doctor of Chiropractic
Candidates for admission to the DC program are required to hold a Baccalaureate degree or its equivalent from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher. Exceptional applicants with three years of undergraduate study (90 semester hours) will be considered for admission if spaces are available. Such students will be required to complete their Baccalaureate degree from Keiser University before graduation from the DC program. Pre-chiropractic coursework must include a minimum of 24 semester hours in life and physical science courses. These science courses will provide an adequate background for success in the DC program, and at least half of these courses will have a substantive laboratory component. The student’s undergraduate preparation must include a well-rounded general education program in the humanities and social sciences. Exceptional students with less than 24 hours in life and physical sciences may be considered for admission under an Alternative Admissions Track Plan, in accordance with the policy of the Council on Chiropractic Education.
Admission Requirements

Health Sciences Doctor of Health Science
Candidates for admission to the Doctor of Health Science program are required to hold a graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution. Two (2) years of full-time managerial or professional experience in the healthcare field, two letters of recommendation from healthcare supervisors and an interview with Doctor of Health Science program faculty. An admission decision is based on a combination of a student’s graduate academic performance, professional experience, and letters of recommendation. Applicants are encouraged to submit Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogy Test (MAT) scores in support of their application. Please note: An interview is not granted to all applicants.

Doctor of Nursing Practice
Candidates for admission to the DNP program are required to hold a Master’s degree in nursing from a regionally or nationally accredited university with minimum nursing graduate level GPA of 3.2 or higher. Students must also enter with and maintain an Active unrestricted registered nurse or advanced practice nursing license. All students are encouraged to submit Graduate Records Exam (GRE) scores in support of their application. Admission decisions are based on a combination of a student’s Master’s level academic performance, GRE score, letters of recommendation, personal declaration statement, and an interview with DNP faculty. Interviews may be conducted via teleconference. Please note: An interview is not granted to all applicants.

Master of Science in Nursing
An admission decision is based on a combination of a student’s undergraduate academic performance, letters of recommendation, and personal declaration statement.

Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner
Candidates for admission to the MSN FNP program are required to hold a four-year baccalaureate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. An admission decision is based on a combination of a student’s undergraduate academic performance, previous clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), three letters of recommendation to include: Two (2) from nursing/healthcare supervisors and one (1) from a nursing faculty, writing assessment, and an interview with MSN FNP faculty. Please note: An interview is not granted to all applicants. All applicants are required to have a clear criminal background check and drug screen.

Candidates for admission to the Master of Science in Nutrition program are required to hold a four-year baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) in nutrition or a related field from an accredited institution. An admission decision is based on a combination of a student’s undergraduate and/or graduate academic performance, professional experience, letters of recommendation, and/or standardized test scores. All students are encouraged to submit Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogy Test (MAT) scores in support of their application.

Master of Science in Nutrition With Distance Learning Internship
The Master of Science in Nutrition with Distance Learning Internship (MSDI) program offers students the opportunity to complete a master’s degree and the accredited internship. The internship program meets the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) requirements for eligibility to write the national registration examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The course of study will develop the student’s knowledge and skills in the areas of clinical nutrition, community nutrition and dietetic management. The internship consists of 1,320 hours of “hands-on” application of dietetic practice meeting the ACEND core competencies for entry-level practice. The emphasis for the Distance Learning Internship is Community Nutrition.

Master of Science in Occupational Therapy – Bridge Program
Candidates for admission to the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree program are required to hold an Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant Degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Note: An Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant degree is expected to contain 84 semester credit hours. Candidates who enter with an Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant degree with less than 84 semester credit hours will be required to complete elective courses to bring the total to 84 semester credit hours. A Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health will be awarded after completion of 120 undergraduate semester credit hours. Candidates are required to have a minimum of one (1) year of recent, professional experience working as a licensed occupational therapy assistant and an active unrestricted Professional OTA license. An admission decision is based on a combination of a student’s academic performance, previous clinical experience as a licensed occupational therapy assistant, three letters of recommendation to include: Two (2) from healthcare supervisors and one (1) from an OTA faculty member, a letter of intent, and an interview with MSOT faculty. Please note: An interview is not granted to all applicants. Applicants are required to have a clear criminal background check and drug screen.

Applicants should be aware that most agencies and credentialing bodies require an updated criminal background check as a prerequisite for fieldwork placements. Having been convicted of a felony and/or some misdemeanors may prevent the student from being licensed or employed or from completing fieldwork in pediatric/health care settings.
NOTE: Prior to admission to the MSOT program applicants who earned less than 84 credit hours in their Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant programs will be required to complete elective courses to make up for missing credits before beginning graduate level courses.
Master of Science in Physician Assistant
Applications sent through CASPA, opens in April, ends in November. Includes submission of transcripts, letters of recommendation, technical standards disclaimer, resume, supplemental broadleaf documents.
If a candidate meets KUPA program CASPA preliminary requirements (as published in catalogue and on website) they are ranked by the PA department based on the following criteria:
Total undergraduate / graduate cumulative gpa 7% weight
Total science cumulative gpa 40% weight
Total prerequisite cumulative gpa 5% weight
GRE score (minimum 275 quant + verbal, 950 old) 5% weight
Interview score* 40% weight
Letters of recommendation score ** 3% weight
Total 100%
Candidates accepted based on highest ranking. A ranking list is developed and candidates called based on ranking above 85. Candidates below 85 are wait-listed and called if slots available.
Highest ranked candidates are called and letter of acceptance sent (at that time a background check, vaccination check are required
Candidates must pay $145 for registration within two weeks of acceptance
Candidates must pay $1000 for seat deposit within 4 weeks of acceptance
Program accepts a total of 40 per year on a rolling basis, keep a wait list of those with lower ranking and these candidates are contacted and advised of future prospects

Technical Standards
In order to successfully complete the Master of Science in Physician Assistant at Keiser University all physician assistant students must possess the abilities and skills in the areas of sensation, communication, motor function, intellectual capability, and behavioral/social proficiency. The following five key skills are required.
Observation
The student must be able to demonstrate sufficient attention and accuracy in observation skills (visual, auditory and tactile) in lecture, laboratory, inpatient, and outpatient settings. The student will be able to accurately observe a patient near and at a distance; recognizing non-verbal and verbal signs.
Communication
The student must be able to communicate effectively, respectfully and efficiently in the written and verbal forms of English with supervising or consulting physicians, program professors, colleagues, instructors, patients, and other members of the health care team. The student must be able to communicate effectively, responsively and empathetically; and exhibit sensitivity with patients of all ages, gender, cultures, ethnicities, and personalities regardless of race or cultural differences.
Motor
The student must have sufficient motor skills to elicit information from patients by palpation, auscultation, percussion, and other diagnostic maneuvers. The student must be able to perform the typical physician assistant duties not limited to physical examination, treatment interventions and general patient care. The student must possess motor coordination to respond in emergent situations and provide medical care quickly.
Intellectual, Conceptual, Integrative and Quantitative
The student must possess intellectual, conceptual, integrative, and quantitative abilities necessary for problem solving and diagnosis. The student must be able to integrate visual, auditory, sensory, tactile, and spatial information in clinical problem solving. The student must be able to demonstrate the ability to measure, calculate reason, analyze, integrate, and synthesize information. The student must demonstrate the ability to acquire, retain and apply new and learned information.
Behavioral
The student must demonstrate ethical and professional attitudes reflected in appropriate behavior or conduct. The student must be able to function with integrity and in an ethical manner. The student must possess attributes of dependability, flexibility, tolerance, respect, and empathy. The student must be able to adapt to a changing environment. The student must be able to function under stress, accept supervision and apply feedback. The student must possess the emotional health for utilization of judgment and cognition.
