| ASSIGNMENT EXPECTATIONS (1) Week, 8, 9, and 10 discussion postings (10%) Discussion topics will be posted by Monday morning, and you are recommended to response initially by midweek and then again by the end of week. The topic usually will be one of the cases in the end of chapters. You are expected to contribute your thoughts/insides on the case questions. Each discussion topic will be evaluated by using 5 the following categories (adapted from Ko & Rossen, 2004): 100% of the Points/Topic • Participant made at least three postings on each of the discussion topics one main posting and two of which was a response to that of a classmate. • Participant’s comments demonstrate the completion of assigned readings and an ability to apply those readings to the discussion • Participant made substantive comments or questions that significantly enhanced the discussion and served to help move the conversation forward • Participant’s comments provided evidence that the participant had read a substantial number of classmates postings. • Participant’s postings were constructive, and differences of opinion were expressed in a respectful manner. 80% of the Points/Topic • Participant made at least two postings on each of the discussion topics, one of which was a response to that of a classmate. • Participant made comments or asked questions that helped move the conversation forward, including asking a few followup questions, providing examples, or giving new perspectives. • Participant’s comments provided evidence that the participant had read at least a few classmates postings. • Participant referred to relevant assignments. • Participant’s postings were constructive, and differences of opinion were expressed in a respectful manner. 50% of the Points/Topic • Participant made at least one posting of a substantive nature on each of the discussion topics. • Participant’s comments provided evidence that the participant had read at least a few classmates postings • Participant referred to some of the relevant assignments. • Participant’s postings were expressed in a respectful manner.
