Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 4:35 P.M.:  I was up at 11 A.M. when a friend called.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went outside, and I threw out garbage.  I picked up the mail.  I watched President Bush's news conference.  I went back to bed.  I was up at 3:30 P.M..  I just turned on the primary computer, and as soon as I turned it on an IP address from Hanaro Telecom Co. in Seocho-Ku, Korea attempted to intrude on my computer.  The intrusions are coming from a town near the Korean border, so maybe North Koreans are attempting to intrude on my computer.  Possibly they are mad that I sold my 1999 Hyundai Accent, but I still have my General Electric Profile 15,500 BTU air conditioner with remote control that was made in Korea.  Maybe they are mad that I am advertising cheaper bananas at the Korean fruit and vegetable store next to the Greenwich Post Office.  In the old days the "Moonies" were always snooping around me, because they would see me awake at night.  Also the local Lutheran church next to the Greenwich Town Hall has a Korean church using their facilities.  I also know the "Moonies" sell flowers in our neighborhood on holidays.  Possibly it is some old friend from the military that got transferred to Korea.  www.hanaro.com is Korea's fastest internet service.  Well, I am still waiting for my old 1999 Hyundai Accent L rebate card to be activated on November 16, which is today.  I will have to stop by Stamford Hyundai to see if they accept it.  I am suppose to have $120 on the card to only be used at a Hyundai dealership.  I just had the computer intruded on from 268 Bush street in San Francisco, California by "PPPoX Pool".  CIO       

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 4:05 A.M.:  The latest intrusion attempt came from ThePlanet.com in Dallas, Texas, but for all I know, people must be really bored to keep trying such activity, unless they are trying to sell tech support or hardware after they mess up someone's computer in which case, they could be prosecuted for a Class A felony fraud.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed.  Stay warm if you are in the cold country.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 3:45 A.M.:  The latest intrusion detection was from Asia Infonet Co., Ltd., Din Daeng, Thailand and earlier one from China.  Of course, I know enough about the internet to know that cleaver enough individuals can fake IP addresses.  I once dealt with a software engineer that drank too much bourbon that traveled around for the U.S. government.  Needless to say from what I know about software engineering, there is no real reason to bother my computer operation, unless someone is trying to keep me busy on the computer, so I do not spend as much time downtown.  However during time of war, such activity could be considered close to counter espionage, which during time of war could be tried as a Capitol offence.  However, that would only be the case if I were a high level government official, however if such individuals are bothering me, more than likely they are bothering more important individuals as well.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 3:15 A.M.:  Other intrusions have come from Mountain Cablevision LTD. Hamilton, Ontario; America Online, Dulles, Virginia; Korea Telecom, Korea; Korea Network Information, Korea; Hanaro Telecom, Korea; Neostrada Plus, Wroclaw, Poland; Dacom Corp., Korea; and Sequent Computer Systems, Inc., Essex Junction, Vermont.  They have tried to install the Back Orifice and the Netbus Trojan virus programs to remotely control my computer.  Norton Internet Security 2004 has detected and blocked them, but I sort of wander what the point is, unless it is some sort of spider crawling around the internet randomly targeting vulnerable computers.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 2:20 A.M.:  I uninstalled and reinstalled Sun Java, and I got the Norton Internet Security 2004 Attacker details working with the Java, and the last two attacks came from www.conxion.net which is now http://www.navisite.com/infrastructure-services.cfm .  In the future, I will have to use that feature of Norton Internet Security 2004 to see where attacks are coming from.  The last attack came from the Santa Clara, California, which is out there in the Silicone Valley, so perhaps some web head thinks I have not been working hard enough on the computer.  However for the last few years since 911, I have been spending quite a bit more time outside in the weather year round doing other routines, so I have not been able to keep up with the tech aspects of the internet as much as I would like.  I feel like putting the techie in Santa Clara, California in some place like Juno, Alaska, so they would begin to know at my age it is not easy being out in the weather as much as I am.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/15/04  Monday 10:00 P.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went by the Arnold bread outlet, and I bought a loaf of Arnold whole wheat oat bread for $1.45 and two 6 ounce boxes of Arnold regular cut seasoned croutons for .99 each for $3.43 total.  I then made my 4:15 P.M. appointment.  I next went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue including the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  I used the bathroom at the Senior and Arts center.  I stopped by CVS, and I bought a 3 ounce jar of Gold Emblem black pepper for .59, a 2.5 ounce jar of Gold Emblem garlic powder for .59, and a .75 ounce jar of Gold Emblem oregano for .59 for $1.77 total.  After I completed my walk, I also stopped by Zyn stationary.  I next drove down by the waterfront, and I took the time to get out my car, and I viewed the ducks on the waterfront.  I next went by the Greenwich Library, and I read the Greenwich Time and P.C. Magazine.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought two 28 ounce cans of Goya chick peas for $1.19 each car, a dented 8 ounce can of Stop and Shop stems and pieces mushrooms for .35, two dented 15 ounce cans of Lesueur very young small early peas for .35 each, a dented can of DelMonte chunky mixed fruit 15.25 ounces for .35 for $3.78 total.  I then returned home, and I drank some iced tea.  I chatted with a relative.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/15/04  Monday 12:25 P.M.:  I was up at 8 A.M., and I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went back to bed until 11 A.M..  I received my package from www.sierratradingpost.com containing two extra large white turtlenecks Medalist Two-Layer Midweight Performance Turtleneck (for Men) and two large pairs of grey heather Fox Merino wool casual socks Fox River Merino Wool Casual Socks (for Men and Women) plus $8.25 shipping for $46.05 total.  I unpacked them, and I put the socks in the long mahogany bureau right side bottom drawer, and I put the turtle necks on the second shelf down right in the sweater closet in the hallway.  The turtlenecks are made from a DuPont www.dupont.com miracle fabric.  Both the socks and turtlenecks are machine washable and low tumble dry.  I picked up the mail downstairs.  I had a telephone call, and my appointment is changed from 4 P.M. to 4:15 P.M. this afternoon.  I went back to www.sierratradingpost.com , and I ordered four cotton turtlenecks for $8.95 each Medalist Cotton Turtleneck (for Men) one 2XL in Teal, one 2XL in dark teal, one XL in Red, and one XL in Navy  plus $8.25 postage for $44.05 total.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/14/04  Sunday 9:15 P.M.:  I microwaved, and I ate a Stouffer's 16 ounce white meat chicken pot pie, which I had with a glass of iced tea.  I saved the Stouffer's box which has the browning foil on the top inside to use with the Pepperidge Farm chicken pot pies which do not have the browning foil in their box.  I went outside briefly, and I threw out some garbage.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/14/04  Sunday 8:05 P.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went by the Greenwich Library.  I then drove down by the waterfront.  I next went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  I stopped by CVS, and I bought a 100 ounce container of Gain liquid detergent for $2.97 and a 1 ounce jar of Italian spices for .59 plus .18 tax for $3.74 total.  I then finished my walk.  I next went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a dozen large eggs for $1.69, two half gallons of Tropicana Premium orange juice with calcium for $2.50 each, and a quart of plum tomatoes for $3.49 for $10.18 total.  I then returned home, and I drank some iced tea, and I ate two black licorice twists.  CIO 

Note: <888> 11/14/04  Sunday 4:00 P.M.:  I had a fund raising call for the Special Olympics http://www.specialolympics.org/ , but I can not afford to donate at the moment, but one can donate online.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/14/04  Sunday 3:35 P.M.:  I went through my email.  I put three teaspoons of olive oil and two pads of margarine in my 10 inch omelet pan, and I heated it over medium high electric heat, and once the fat began to bubble, I lowered it to a little lower than medium.  I had already broken three eggs in a metal bowl, and I added a couple of tablespoons of milk, and I mixed it altogether with a whisk.  I added the egg mixture to the omelet pan, and I let it heat until it was solid enough to flip over.  I then flipped it over with a spatula.  I then let it heat a little more until that side was cooked a little bit and it was puffy.  I then slid it on to a microwave proof plate, and I added two large sliced plum tomatoes sliced into 3/16 inch thick slices and 10 slices of 1.5 inch by 1.25 inch by 1/8th inch thick slices of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese, and I seasoned it with Italian seasoning, and I put it all in the General Electric microwave oven with a microwave cover, and I heated it on reheat for half of the reheat time to melt the cheese and warm the tomatoes.  I then slid the open face omelet on another plate and sprinkled it with grated parmesan cheese.  I also added two slices of toast with two slices each of margarine, and I cut the toast in half.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/14/04  Sunday 1:40 P.M.:  I went to bed after the last message.  I woke up during the night, and I ate the remaining fourth of a 12 ounce can of CVS mixed nuts.  I was up at 8 A.M. this morning, and I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I then went back to bed until 12:30 P.M.  I watched a bit of television.  I will now do some regular computer work.  As far as the Greenwich Time www.greenwichtime.com is concerned its main advertising revenue is derived from advertising Greenwich, Connecticut real estate, so more than likely it would not be in its interest to print anything that was detrimental to Greenwich, Connecticut real estate  http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/gwreal.htm  values.  However, having lived here most of my life in Greenwich, Connecticut nothing much happens worth reporting most of the time anyway.  It is just because we have a lot of cleaver writers, certain news events tend to get over reported.  I once met Otis Chandler Junior out living on a 40 acre avocado ranch in a Buckmaster Fuller house in Oceanside, California, and as I recall, he did not even have any printed matter in his house besides Architectural Digest.  I think he has since move to Chicago, Illinois since he acquired the Chicago Tribune Company http://www.tribune.com/ which owns the Times Mirror company Times Mirror Company (the) Profile Information at Business.com .  However like the Hearst family, the Chandler family have other business interests besides the Newspaper business.  I also ate four black licorice twists.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 10:05 P.M.:  Over the years, I have noticed quite a few people enjoying a meal at one of our local pizza parlors next to the Greenwich train station and movie theatre called Planet Pizza, and I just recently noticed they have a web site http://www.planetpizza.com/ .  I was once told by one of their employees that their biggest corporate customer was IBM www.ibm.com up in Armonk, New York, and I joked they should deliver motherboards in pizza boxes.  Apparently quite a few Italians seem to work locally for IBM, so some of them seem to think it stands for Italian Business Machines, but it stands for International Business Machines.  I believe the Italian Business Machine company is www.olivetti.com , which use to have a nice modern building on the west side of Park Avenue in Manhattan at 59th street.  However, the last time I checked the bamboo at IBM's office in Manhattan at the southwest corner of Madison Avenue and 57th Street was about two years ago during the G8 conference.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 9:40 P.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I drove downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations.  I used the bathroom at the Senior and Arts center, and I stopped by CVS.  I noticed on a bulletin message on the front door of the Senior and Arts center that only people over 75 years of age or older will be able to get flu shots when they are offered at the Greenwich High School some time in the near future and also younger people with special medical conditions.  I next drove down by the waterfront.  I then stopped by the Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library, and I bought $10.75 of premium gasoline at $2.499 a gallon for 14.4 miles per gallon usage this week averaging driving 12 miles per hour locally around town.  The Volvo has a dashboard computer that gives me this information, which I reset after I fill up the Volvo.  I chatted with a relative.  I watched a program on CNN about Saudi Arabia being at a Cross Roads which was somewhat informative.  Apparently they have a large youth population there, and they have 30% unemployment, but they are working on programs there to put the local population to work.  I remember recently back around 1973, I visited with a friend from East Aurora, New York, and we visited his grandfather down in Gladstone, New Jersey, and his grandfather had a traditional British stone country house with out buildings.  His grandfather had worked as a honor guard for Queen Victoria, and I guess in Queen Victoria's time, they did not have much energy, because during that winter evening, I noticed the temperature inside the house was below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.  Thus he must have had some Scottish blood in him too or some other product from Scotland.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 2:30 P.M.:  I made and ate my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm .  I use a tin of sardines that I chopped instead of tuna fish.  For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese.  I used all of the other regular ingredients.  I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  For middle age individuals like myself whom take Lipitor www.lipitor.com to control one's cholesterol, I have chosen not to eat too much beef to keep my cholesterol down.  So I am not necessarily a vegetarian, and the salads costs just as much as a cooked dinner of beef, poultry, fish, or pork.  Also they tend to take more time to prepare.  On arthritis, I read this book "The Arthritis Cure" by Jason Theodosakis Amazon.com: Books: The Arthritis Cure: The Medical Miracle That Can Halt, Reverse, and May Even Cure Osteoarthritis about five years ago.  Today, I take double strength of Glucosamine Hydrochoride 1500 mg. and Chondroitin Sulfate 1200 mg. once a day and twice a day MSM 1000 mg., and it does seem to help with my arthritis.   However, the book says the first remedy takes about three months to take effect.  The MSM is an anti-inflammatory, so it helps with the pain.  Along with my Vitamins and supplements, when I wake up, I also take a half of a aspirin and an Advil, and I take a Tylenol before I go to bed.  I will now send out my weekly notes.  I will then shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 12:30 P.M.:  I just picked up the mail including the grocery store circulars, and starting today at the Food Emporium, premium aged boneless Angus sirloin steaks are $4.99 a pound, and starting tomorrow at the Stop and Shop top round roast is $1.99 a pound, and starting next week on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Porricelli's boneless chicken breasts are $1.88 a pound, so if one can afford the gasoline to shop around, one can still eat in Greenwich, Connecticut providing one has a kitchen.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 12:05 P.M.:  Last winter, I was told by a customer with bad arthritis at the Putnam Trust Bank of New York parking lot on Mason Street here in Greenwich, Connecticut that a good cure for arthritis is soak white raisins in gin.  This week while making my 3 P.M. Thursday appointment, I read in a two week old U.S. News and World Report that Teresa Heinz Kerry suggests soaking white raisins in Gilbey's gin for two weeks, and this article says that one is suppose to eat nine of the white raisins a day for arthritis New York Daily News - Home - Michael Goodwin: She's out there , but it does not say what one is suppose to do with the Gin.  I might have to try it some time.  The person who told me about it at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street looked like a prominent democrat associated with Berkshire Hathaway http://www.berkshirehathaway.com/ who is suppose to live in Omaha, Nebraska, but may indeed visit out here too.  He once told me he lived in Scarsdale, New York when I tried to interest him in buying the General Reinsurance building on Steamboat Road now the Greenwich Capital http://www.gcm.com/ building owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland http://www.rbs.co.uk/ .  I also was reminded one of the best values on beef in Greenwich, Connecticut is that one can buy chopped beef at Manero's butcher chop for $2.49 a pound Manero's Steakhouse Restaurant, Butcher Shop, Wedding & Banquet Facilities in Greenwich, CT. according to their web site at http://www.maneros-greenwichct.com/ .  One could also look for hamburger buns at the Arnold bread outlet.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 11:30 A.M.:  I put away both loads of laundry.  According to www.airborne.com , my www.sierratradingpost.com order two extra large white turtlenecks Medalist Two-Layer Midweight Performance Turtleneck (for Men) and two large pairs of grey heather Fox Merino wool casual socks Fox River Merino Wool Casual Socks (for Men and Women) plus $8.25 shipping for $46.05 total arrived at the DHL facility in Norwalk, Connecticut at 9:37 A.M. this morning via Allentown, Pa. from Salt Lake City, Utah, with the original shipment from Cheyenne, Wyoming on 11/10/04.  However, it is suppose to be delivered by the United States Post office, so I guess DHL has to transfer it to the post office for delivery.  Apparently www.dhl.com partnered with the post office on deliveries which included delivering to U.S. Post Office boxes for those of you whom do not have home delivery, although they do most of the shipping.  CIO
