Note: <888> 12/04/04  Saturday 9:15 A.M.:  I rested until 4 A.M. this morning, and I thought about something that happened last night.  When I went downtown, and I went to park in the first parking place on the left at the Board of Education Parking lot.  However, there was a black truck parked in the second parking place to the left to far over to the left, so I could not get into the first parking place on the left.  I then parked in the third parking place to the left.  There were about 20 youth around the loading platform at the Board of Education parking lot.  When I was walking lower Greenwich Avenue and the train station area, two young white males asked me for a cigarette which I gave them.  I was chatting with owner of the Figaro restaurant at the time.  I then sat out in front of the senior center, and I smoked a cigarette.  I then walked upper Greenwich Avenue, and I made my purchases at CVS, and I sat out at the top of Greenwich Avenue.  I then returned to my Volvo, and I put my purchases in the Volvo, and I locked the Volvo.  I then went into the senior and the arts center, and I used the bathroom.  I then sat out in front of the Senior and Arts center, and I smoked another cigarette.  I noticed another white male with long hair about my age smoking a cigarette and drinking coffee whom looked a bit familiar.  I was wearing my polar bear winter cap, so I was not easily recognized.  I studied my car, and I tried to figure out what the problem was.  I went back to my Volvo, and the car doors were unlocked, and I thought I might have forgotten to lock them.  I then noticed that my Volvo was in the second parking place to the left not where I had parked it originally, but moved over one parking place to the left in the second spot.  There was a white van parked in the third parking place, where I had originally parked.  When I went to the Exxon gasoline station to get gas, my lockable gas tank filler lid would not open like somebody had tampered with it.  I pressed on it, and I relocked and unlocked the Volvo, and it finally opened.  I put $13.25 of premium unleaded gasoline in the Volvo, which is about twice as much as I should have put in, since I drove the car only 45 miles since filling it up last Sunday, and I get 13 to 14 miles per gallon local driving.  I returned home.  I phoned this information into the police around 4:30 A.M., when I woke up after thinking about it.  I then called GEICO insurance www.geico.com 1-800-841-3000, and I chatted with them.  I then woke up at 6:30 A.M. when a friend called.  Since it was daylight, I went out, and I checked my Volvo, and the gas tank filler lid looks like it has been pulled out a bit like someone tried to force it open, although it still locks.  On the left rear panel there is a 15 inch scratch like somebody dragged a nail over it, and there is about a 5 inch scratch on the left rear door.  I check my Volvo exterior most every day.  Also when I returned home, my apartment lights were turned on, and I always turn them off.  It seems to me that some persons are parties unknown might have gained access to my apartment to my keys for the Volvo which also includes the key for the truck bar steering wheel lock.  Thus either the Volvo was driven about 20 to 30 miles while I was walking Greenwich Avenue which means somebody would have needed both keys or a group of people lifted the Volvo up, and moved it over one parking place.  Also it was unusual at that time of night for somebody else to be out smoking a cigarette at the senior and the arts center about 9:30 P.M., but the person was also drinking coffee from Starbucks.  There were a lot of out of state license plates last night, and I remember ones from North Caroline, Indiana, Virginia, and Georgia, which is unusual for this time of year.  I also reported the information to my insurance company GEICO www.geico.com about 5 A.M., and I reported the additional information to the Greenwich Police department about 8:15 A.M..  In summary several years ago, I had somebody scratch my Hyundai at the same location, and the Greenwich Board of Education van also had Nazi and Racial graffiti scratched on it about the same time.  The culprits of that incident were caught, and they lived in Cos Cob according to the Greenwich Time.  I do have a "GW04" sticker on my Volvo rear window as well as a three star Republican elephant symbol and a Greenwich Country Day alumni sticker, so perhaps the vandals don't like those groups, or since I have been walking Greenwich Avenue daily for 21 years, maybe they do not like me.  There was a larger police patrol car presence downtown last night compared to normal nights.  We also have had gas cap vandalism and scratches on our cars at Vinci drive too, but it is hard to tell how or why my Volvo was moved over one place, and the car seems to have consumed an extra 30 miles of driving, although the odometer remained the same.  It is all a mystery.   I do not think I am absent minded, and I think there is some mischief afoot.  Also since yesterday was the third of the month when retired people usually get their social security, we frequently get gangs working the town around the third of the month.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/04/04  Saturday 1:05 A.M.:  I did some regular computer work.  I will now shut down the computer.  I will eat the last piece of pecan pie with whipped cream and drink some iced tea.  I will then go to bed. Local weather here is still not too cold yet Weather Underground: Greenwich, Connecticut Forecast .  CIO

Note: <888> 12/03/04  Friday 11:50 P.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  I stopped by CVS, and I bought a 10 ounce can of CVS lightly salted cashew nuts for $2.50 and buy one get one free of Comet cleaner for .99 both plus .06 tax for $3.55 total.  After my walk, I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I then drove down by the waterfront.  I then went by the Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library, and I filled my Volvo all the way up with $13.75 of premium unleaded gasoline at $2.479 a gallon for 13 miles per gallon usage at 11 miles per hour average driving.  I was able to put more in because the last two times I filled up, I did not fill it up all the way up.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought four 10 ounce bars of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese for $1.99 each, two half gallons of Tropicana Premium orange juice with calcium for $2.50 each, four 6.65 ounce Celeste Deluxe pizzas for $1.25 each, a 16 ounce Maria Callender turkey pot pie for $2.50, a 14 ounce Maria Callender chicken tenders meal for $2.50, 10 six ounce cans of Bumble Bee solid white albacore tuna fish for $1 each, five 26 ounce jars of Francesco Rinaldi tomato sauce with mushrooms, garlic, and green peppers for $1 each, four boxes of Jolly Time microwave popcorn for $1 each, a 10 quart 10 package container of Stop and Shop powdered whole milk for $6.99, four quart jars of Stop and Shop grape jelly for $1 each, five 18 ounce containers of Stop and Shop old fashioned oatmeal for $1 each, a 10 ounce bag of fresh spinach for $1.99, and a 8 ounce container of Stop and Shop low fat grated cheese topping for $2.69 for $62.63 total.  I then returned home, and I used the wire cart in my apartment to bring up my purchases and put them away.  I drank some iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/03/04  Friday 6:50 P.M.:  I made my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm .  Instead of tuna fish, I cut two 1/4 inch thick slices of cold eye round of beef, and I cut them into half inch wide pieces.  For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Norwegian Jarlsberg cheese.  I used all of the other regular ingredients.  I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  I went to www.hyundaiusa.com , and I ordered with my Ecount card which works like a Visa card from the Hyundai Rebate settlement, from the Hyundai Apparel and Merchandise link a Hyundai light weight khaki jacket in XXXlarge size for $115.79.  The card is good for $120, but the Danbury Hyundai dealership first has to contact me to confirm the order.  Also I am not sure if that includes tax or shipping in which case, I would probably have to pay more than the $120 card.  I ordered the larger XXXlarge size instead of XXlarge, since I think they run small.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out.  Hopefully the Ecount Visa card will work online too.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/03/04  Friday 4:00 P.M.:  I was awake at 8 A.M., and I slept comfortably with the new electric blanket on.  I only turned it on halfway, but it was much warmer in bed.  One does not tuck in the side of it though.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went back to bed until 12:30 P.M..  I ate a piece of pecan pie with whipped cream and iced tea.  I picked up my mail downstairs.  I did my house cleaning and watering the plants.  I threw out some garbage.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I talked on the telephone with a relative.  I chatted on the telephone on another matter.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/02/04  Thursday 11:15 P.M.:  I microwaved and ate a Pepperidge Farm creamy alfredo white meat chicken and broccoli pot pie, and I used the Stouffer's pot pie box with the foil crisper, so the Pepperidge Farm crust came out crispy.  I ate it with a glass of iced tea.  The Pepperidge Farm pot pie is made in Canada, so I guess they like pot pies in Canada too.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed.  I will do my house cleaning when I wake up tomorrow.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/02/04  Thursday 9:55 P.M.:  I took the old blue electric blanket out of the dryer, and I folded it lengthwise about 15 inches wide, and I draped it over the end of the bed in the bedroom to have for napping without opening up the bed which is a cumbersome since there are a lot of throw pillows on it.  I took the lighter white blanket off the end of the bed, and I put it along the back side of the down stuffed sofa to have available for warmth in the winter.  I also have the two comforters and the blue and grey throw draped along the back of the green sofa.  I got another one of those annoying fax type calls.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/02/04  Thursday 9:05 P.M.:  I posted Michael Louis Scott's 2004 Christmas Letter .  CIO

Note: <888> 12/02/04  Thursday 8:55 P.M.:  I put away the laundry.  I have 15 minutes to go on the dry cycle for the old blue electric blanket.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/02/04  Thursday 7:40 P.M.:  I did two loads of laundry, and I have 40 minutes to go on the dry cycle.  I am also finishing washing the old blue electric blanket that I took off the bed, and I will dry it once a dryer is available.  I put clean linens on the bed along with new electric blanket which I hooked up.  I will keep the old electric blanket in reserve for warmth.  It no longer works as an electric blanket since it shorted out about three years ago.  Still it is a good warm blanket.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/02/04  Thursday 6:30 P.M.:  I was given a mixed tracking number from www.smartbargains.com for my order Save on the Dream Suite Automatic Warming Blanket at SmartBargains.com .  It showed two separate packages, when there is actually only one package.  I called UPS and Smart Bargains, and after a long time on hold with Smart Bargains, we sorted out the problem.  Anyway, the electric blanket just arrived from UPS at 6:05 P.M..  I will now strip the bed, and I will do some laundry, and I will put clean linens on the bed with the electric blanket.  I paid $27.98 for the full size electric blanket in Ecru plus shipping of 6.95 for $34.93 total.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/02/04  Thursday 5:00 P.M.:  I went out to my 3 P.M. appointment after the last message.  I then returned back home about 3:50 P.M..  I took the UPS note off the outside door.  I chatted with a friend.

Note: <888> 12/02/04  Thursday 1:35 P.M.:  I cut three 1/4 inch thick slices of cold eye round of beef, and I put horseradish and Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce on them.  I reheated the rice from yesterday in the microwave, and I use the vegetable cycle to cook an individual serving of broccoli.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up.  I will probably be coming directly back from my 3 P.M. appointment to wait or check up on the UPS delivery.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/02/04  Thursday 12:55 P.M.:  I finished preparing my Christmas cards.  I will mail them at the Valley Road post office, when I go out for my 3 P.M. appointment.  I picked up the mail downstairs.  I will leave a note for UPS when I go out, if they have not arrived yet.  Generally this time of year, they take more time for their delivery route.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/02/04  Thursday 8:30 A.M.:  I was awake at 6:30 A.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I chatted with a relative.  I watched President Bush's speech on Cspan from Halifax, Nova Scotia.  UPS tracking www.ups.com shows that my order for Save on the Dream Suite Automatic Warming Blanket at SmartBargains.com is out for delivery from Norwalk, Connecticut, but UPS does not usually arrive here until the afternoon.  I have a 3 P.M. appointment this afternoon.  I will now work in my Christmas Cards.  CIO
