Note: <888> 11/24/04  Wednesday 3:00 A.M.:  Well, when I got back to New York or New Canaan, Connecticut to be exact, I was planning to move to Norway, and just before I left Greenwich, I bought a 1974 Burgundy Volvo 2 door sedan at John Delia's Subaru dealership here in Greenwich for $1,750, and I gave them my old 1972 Subaru that had been across country and down to Florida.  I had a small amount traveling funds in cash and a 5 ounce Swiss Credit bar and three 1 ounce Canadian Maple Leaf Sovereigns in a Jan Sport Day Pack which were worth about $6,800 plus some personal items like spare jeans and shirts.  I had planned to drive up to Canada leave the Volvo there and fly to Norway, and thus I would have a car whenever I returned.  However, I either left the day pack with the gold in the Subaru when I switched cars, or it was taken from the Volvo when I parked at Westchester airport to check flight schedules, or when I stopped at my friend's mother's apartment whose family were United States State department employees and I parked on Riverside Drive in Manhattan or when I parked in SoHo for dinner, and I discovered it missing when I checked the trunk of the Volvo later that evening in Port Washington, Long Island where my friend was picking up his passport and belongings at another family residence.  I thus was not able to make the trip to Norway with my friend whom was not very keen on moving to Norway, so with what little funds remained we drove back out to California, and we hung around Santa Barbara, Laguna Beach, and Santa Cruz, California traveling until after election day when we sold the Volvo in Anaheim, and returned back to New York shortly after election day.  Whatever happened to the Jan Sport day back is still a mystery, and it had my United States passport in it, which according to American Express was used in Amsterdam in the Netherlands sometime after that before I ever got there.  Thus from what I can tell, certain parties with government connections in one country or another are covering for the person that took my passport with the Jan Sport day bag and the traveling funds.  My own expenses for traveling in that period, since I was rather frugal were the cost of the Volvo, gasoline to California, a trip for one to California, then to Hawaii, to Maui, to Hawaii, back to California, a few local flights in California, the Hyatt in Maui, a couple nights in Carmel, about a half dozen nights in a cheap motel in Laguna beach, two expensive dinners but mostly light meals, and two airline tickets back from California.  Many nights I slept on the beach or in the Volvo to save money.  Thus the bulk of the funds were lost.  The sale of the Volvo in Anaheim in November 1980 for $1200 permitted us to fly back and provided some living expenses in New York when we returned to my friend's mother's apartment.  Since I knew quite a few Norwegians, I thought I would be better off living off the social welfare system in Norway than sleeping on friend's couches which I had been doing for a quite a bit of time until then.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/24/04  Wednesday 2:20 A.M.:  I remember after I left Kennebunkport, Maine in July 1980 when former President Bush #41 had just gotten the Vice Presidential nomination with Ronald Reagan, I went out to California to see what the Reagan group was about, and while I was out there, I thought I would visit Hawaii, so I caught a plane to Hawaii and a puddle jumper to Maui, and I booked a room in a simple beach motel for about $20 a night.  However, it looked like it might be hot, so I kept the key, and I checked into the Hyatt Regency in Maui at Lahaina, Hawaii Hyatt.com Maui hotels Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa into the least expensive ground floor inside room for about $90 a night, and I put the air conditioning on the maximum.  I did not eat much there, since it was an expensive hotel, but I did have the occasional breakfast buffet of tropical fruits, corn beef hash, and eggs.  I had one expensive dinner, which was about six large shrimp scampi with a half of a bottle of inexpensive German Riesling wine, and the whole meal was about $75, which I thought was expensive, but it was a beautiful dining room overlooking the ocean with waterfalls and very high ceilings and sort of a paradise atmosphere.  They also had a discothèque downstairs with local youth, and I would wear my pink linen pants with my linen Filipino shirt with the shirt tail out, and I would drink vodka and tonic.  The music really was not what I was use to listening to back in New York.  I recall after a week, the manager asked about the bill, and I was told it was about $750, so I gave him a one ounce Canadian gold maple leaf sovereign coin with Queen Elizabeth II's image on the front side which was worth about $875.  I think he gave me change back of about $100, so I could afford to travel to the airport and fly back to the main island of Hawaii, where I received some help near Pearl Harbor refinancing myself with a 2.5 ounce gold coin with Kaiser Wilhelm on it and some spare change.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/24/04  Wednesday 12:50 A.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  After I completed my walk, I drove down by the waterfront.  I then returned home.  My odometer on my 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo green station wagon just turned to 99,000 miles, so I have driven it about 750 miles, since I got it around the first of October 2004 which includes bringing it up from the Philadelphia area and driving it to Danbury to register it.  I drank some iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/23/04  Tuesday 10:20 P.M.:  I chatted with a relative.  I put three teaspoons of olive oil and two pads of margarine in my 10 inch omelet pan, and I heated it over medium high electric heat, and once the fat began to bubble, I lowered it to a little lower than medium.  I had already broken three eggs in a metal bowl, and I added a couple of tablespoons of milk, and I mixed it altogether with a whisk.  I added the egg mixture to the omelet pan, and I let it heat until it was solid enough to flip over.  I then flipped it over with a spatula.  I then let it heat a little more until that side was cooked a little bit and it was puffy.  I then slid it on to a microwave proof plate, and I added two large sliced plum tomatoes sliced into 3/16 inch thick slices and 10 slices of 2 inch by 1.5 inch by 3/32th inch thick slices of Stop and Shop Swiss cheese, and I seasoned it with Italian seasoning, and I put it all in the General Electric microwave oven with a microwave cover, and I heated it on reheat for half of the reheat time to melt the cheese and warm the tomatoes.  I then slid the open face omelet on another plate and sprinkled it with grated parmesan cheese.  I also added two slices of toast with two slices each of margarine, and I cut the toast in half.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  Greenwich Time - Slain Marine comes back to Greenwich .  I will now shut down the computer, and I will now go back up for a walk.  It is suppose to rain tomorrow Weather Underground: Greenwich, Connecticut Forecast .

Note: <888> 11/23/04  Tuesday 8:55 P.M.:  I was up at 2 P.M. this afternoon.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I threw out some garbage, and I picked up my mail.  I chatted with an associate.  I went back to bed until 7 P.M..  I chatted with a relative.  I cleaned up, and I went out.  I went by the Stop and Shop, and I used my $25 Thanksgiving voucher, and I bought a boneless cooked Butterball www.butterball.com white meat turkey breast at $4.29 a pound for $7.85, two half gallons of Minute Main Premium orange juice for $1.99 each, a 16 ounce container of Stop and Shop grated parmesan cheese for $5.99, broccoli crowns at $1.69 a pound for $1.41, a six ounce dry can of California black pitted olives for .99, a 16 ounce bag of baby carrots for $1.99, a 6.5 ounce box of Kraft www.kraft.com Stove Top stuffing for $1.50, a 8.5 ounce box Kraft Nabisco triscuts for $1.99 for $25.70 total.  I then returned home, and I put away my purchases, and I drank some iced tea.  Because, I used the $25 voucher, they keep the grocery receipt, so I did not get a grocery receipt.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/23/04  Tuesday 4:10 A.M.:  I read about a year ago on the internet that Greenshield was the name of the Rothschild family home in Europe, so maybe they branched out with this health care site Green Shield Canada  Welcome or Greenshield Investment Group or Greenshields Brewery & Pub Raleigh's Original Brewpub or University of Windsor - Lancers - Main - Greenshield Therapy Clinic or Greenshield Resources Ltd. or Surface Water Management for Athletic Turf - GreenShield Systems - Drainage, slit drainage, turf drainage, sand channel, sports turf - Drainage, slit drainage, turf drainage, sand channel, sports turf.  However, the Ian Greenshield I knew in Nantucket was a French Canadian contractor whom also built barns in Stowe, Vermont and claimed he had worked as a body guard for Jackie Onassis and he also had me work on my last project painting Admiral Halsey's small Cape cottage on Nantucket Harbor near town off the Polpis road.  I remember its eves and trim which we were painting were full of bees.  Ian looked like the actor Sean Connery and he had a lot of friends and he enjoyed a drink.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/23/04  Tuesday 3:00 A.M.:  I noticed something rather humorous earlier this evening which frequently happens out here.  There are a great many visitors to Manhattan whom do not speak English very clearly, and they ask the information booth at Grand Central Station how to get to Greenwich and are directed out here on the train when they actually are trying to find Greenwich Village in lower Manhattan.  This evening, I noticed a couple of young European student back packers downtown enjoying our town probably thinking it is Greenwich Village.  More than likely they are probably camping in one of our local parks.  I suppose if they surface in the daytime, we could all wear our old blue jeans and tie dye T-shirts and try to make the area look like Greenwich Village with a few random guitar players and other street musicians and hippie type atmosphere.  However, I am not really sure they are camping out here, but more than likely they probably are, unless they ran into other young people whom spoke their language.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/23/04  Tuesday 2:30 A.M.:  I went out after the last message, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area, and I sat out at various locations.  I chatted with the Kennedy Security guard working on the Baccarat store www.baccarat.fr  remodeling operation.  After I completed my walk, I drove down by the waterfront.  I then stopped by the Shell gasoline station on West Putnam Avenue, and I checked the air in my Volvo tires for 32 pounds per sqaure inch.  I toured the station shop, and I said Good Evening to the regular station manager.  I just now returned home, and I drank some iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/22/04  Monday 11:35 P.M.:  I made up a fresh batch of homemade hummus www.geocities.com/mikelscott/hummus.htm .  For the garlic portion, I used a one ounce bulb of fresh garlic.  I used all of the other regular ingredients.  I then made my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm .  Instead of tuna fish, I used a tin of sardines that I chopped.  For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Stop and Shop Swiss cheese.  I used all of the other regular ingredients.  I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  Since around the holiday time we tend to be a little short shifted at night, I will go back downtown for a little bit of moon watching on the New Amsterdam night watch.  It is 46 degrees Fahrenheit right now Weather Underground: Greenwich, Connecticut Forecast .  I will leave the computer turned on while I go out.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/22/04  Monday 9:50 P.M.:  I installed the www.sidestep.com travel search engine on my Computer.  According to it, round trip from LaGuardia or J.F.K. to Florida is about $145, but round trip from Westchester airport to Florida is about $450, so I guess it would pay to fly out of a major New York airport, but it can cost about $100 round trip to get to the airport from here.  I suppose one could take the train to Grand Central for about $10 from Greenwich, Connecticut, and there is probably a bus from Grand Central to the LaGuardia or J.F.K. for about $20 give or take.  However, one can take the Amtrak train from the Stamford, Connecticut to Newark International Airport for $33, but one would also have to pay from Greenwich to Stamford and to get to and from the Greenwich train station.  I think there are livery bus services in the area that pick one up at their residence and delivers one to the airport and return, and they are probably not too much more expensive.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/22/04  Monday 9:35 P.M.:  I received a telephone call today that I will not be receiving my renter's rebate until January 2005, so I will be having a leaner Christmas Holiday this year.  Maybe it will come in time for Russian Orthodox Christmas which comes later than Western Christian Christmas.  I took my fairly sturdy chair from in front of the stereo system, and I removed the cushion, I use it to stand up on to reach into the false ceiling above the maple side table.  I took out the Christmas pine cone wreath with the CVS ornaments, and I hung it on the outside of my apartment door.  I took out the two foot tall artificial Christmas tree with about a dozen and a half ornaments, and I put it on the mahogany tea table in front of the Danish bar.  I noticed downtown a lot of the Christmas decorations are out, so now I have mine out.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/22/04  Monday 9:00 P.M.:  I was up at 3 P.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went downstairs, and I threw out some garbage, and I picked up some mail.  I cleaned up, and I went out.  I went by the Arnold Bread outlet, and I bought two 6 ounce boxes of Arnold regular cut cheese garlic croutons for $1.19 each, and a loaf of Arnold low carb bread for $2.39 for $4.77 total.  I then drove down by the waterfront.  I next went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue including the train station area, and I sat out at various locations.  I toured CVS, and after my walk, I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I read P.C. Magazine and Smart Computing magazine.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a 10 ounce bag of fresh spinach for $1.99.  I then returned home.  I used a chair at the apartment building front entrance, and I climbed up on it by the plug at the corner of the entrance roof for the holiday Italian lights, and I reset the circuit breaker between the two outlets, and the lights on the trees work, but the lights around the front entrance roof do not work.  They come on when the spotlight is turned on at night.  I left the lights going, and they look more festive.  I then came upstairs, and I drank some iced tea.  I chatted with a relative.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/21/04  Sunday 11:55 P.M.:  I made and ate my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm .  Instead of tuna fish, I used the remaining about of the cooked cold top round of beef, which I sliced into quarter inch thick slices a half inch wide and one to three inches long.  For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Stop and Shop Swiss cheese.  I used all of the other regular ingredients.  I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/20/04  Saturday 11:25 P.M.:  ABC News: Bush Pulls Top Security Agent From Fracas .  Well, a friend of mine hangs out with someone bigger than Andre the Giant http://www.andrethegiant.com/  , and the fellow bigger than Andre the Giant, I think is from Guatemala, so he speaks Spanish and is a Consolidated Edison employee, so if President Bush is having security problems in Chile, we could send him down, but one would have to check with ConEd about his where abouts.  However, he is not as big as the Gouda cheese salesman from Matrich in the Netherlands.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/20/04  Saturday 11:05 P.M.:  I made my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm .  Instead of tuna fish, I sliced two half inch thick slices of cold cooked top round of beef, and I sliced it into half inch strips, and I put it on the salad.  For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Stop and Shop Swiss cheese.  I used all of the other regular ingredients.  I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/20/04  Saturday 9:40 P.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went by the Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library, and I bought $7 of premium gasoline at $2.479 a gallon for 13.9 miles per gallon usage averaging driving 11 miles per hour around town.  I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  During my walk, I stopped by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Greenwich Avenue.  I stopped by CVS, and I bought two buy one get one free of 16 ounce cans of Ocean Spray whole cranberry sauce for $1 both cans and a seven ounce package of black licorice twists for $1.19 plus .07 tax for $2.26 total.  I then completed my walk.  They have finished repaving the sidewalk at the top of Greenwich Avenue on the east side of the street in front of Pickwick Plaza.  After my walk, I used the bathroom at Starbucks www.starbucks.com .  They have not been too busy since they remodeled the store and raised their prices, but one still can get you basic cup of coffee there for $1.40.  I next drove down by the waterfront.  They are still repaving the brick facade entry patio of Greenwich Capital Market www.gcm.com owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland www.rbs.co.uk .  They use about half inch thick veneer bricks, and I think it would be smarter to use thick slate of regular thick bricks or some other paving material, because over time the veneer bricks will crack and break again.  I then went by the Food Emporium, and I bought five 16 ounce boxes of Ronzoni #9 thin spaghetti noodles for $2 all, a 2 pound 5 ounce frozen Mrs. Smith's pumpkin pie for $1.99, and four 26 ounce jars of Francesco Rinaldi tomato spaghetti sauce two of which are three cheese and two tomato, garlic, and onion for .99 each jar for $7.95 total.  I then returned home.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I drank some iced tea.  I chatted with a relative from San Antonio, Texas, and I was told the San Antonio, Texas animal shelter has to put to sleep or gas 90% of the animals turned into it, because only 10% are claimed.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/20/04  Saturday 4:40 P.M.:  I had a telephone call from a friend at 9 A.M..  The first two times the bedroom Columbia corded phone rang, it did not work, so I picked it up on the cordless telephone in the living room.  I chatted with my friend.  I then changed the long cord on the handset of the bedroom Columbia telephone with a regular size one, and it now works.  The longer cord on the telephone before, I think had a lose connection.  I went back to bed until 1 P.M..  I checked outside my apartment, and the package from www.sierratradingpost.com arrived.  I then went back to bed until 3 P.M..  I opened the package from www.sierratradingpost.com , and the four cotton turtlenecks for $8.95 each Medalist Cotton Turtleneck (for Men) one 2XL in Teal, one 2XL in dark teal, one XL in Red, and one XL in Navy  plus $8.25 postage for $44.05 total are just fine.  I unwrapped them, and I put them on the middle left hallway sweater closet shelf.  I keep my collapsed shipping boxes underneath the right side of the bed in the bedroom.  I checked my mail downstairs, and I received my 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo station wagon Connecticut title.  I put it in the usual place I keep my important papers.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  My primary computer started up all right connected to the Siemens router, so whatever the problem, it was more than likely a problem with the Optimum Online www.optimum.net service which is now fixed.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/20/04  Saturday 5:30 A.M.:  I checked out the AOL www.aol.com content.  There is quite a bit of content, once one gets beyond the opening screen.  I will use it for the test period of two months to see if I want to keep it.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed soon.  CIO
