Note: <888> 10/12/04  Tuesday 3:45 P.M.:  I heated and ate a 18.8 ounce can of Campbell's Select garlic and potato soup, which I ate with a glass of iced tea.  I filled out the Volvo change of ownership card to send to Volvo.  I chatted with a relative.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/12/04  Tuesday 2:35 P.M.:  While at Stamford Volvo www.stamford.com I chatted with the service manager, and I was told an oil and oil filter change is $40, so I will have it done there, since it is only about $5 more than Oil Star, and Volvo recommends using Volvo oil filters which are better for a Volvo.  My relative that previously owned the car had the car totally checked out before I took possession of the Volvo, so I guess the 100,000 mile checkup has been done.  I looked in the Volvo manual, and it says at 100,000 miles the fuel filter needs to be replaced, so I will check to see if it has been done.  If they had to do it, it would be $85.  Also the told me, they do NOT recommend that the engines be steamed cleaned, since it potentially could cause problems.  The EGR system is suppose to be cleaned at 100,000 miles too.  Thus I have about 2650 miles until the next oil change, which they recommend being done every 3,000 miles.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/12/04  Tuesday 2:15 P.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.  I then drove down by the waterfront.  I next drove over to Stamford Volvo www.stamfordvolvo.com , and I toured the new car showroom to see what the new models look like.  I then went to the parts department, and I bought the headlamp wiper blades wiper blade kit #274432-4 for $19.95 plus $1.20 tax for $21.15 total.  I then had a duplicate key made of the primary key for $21.27 total. Thus I now have three primary keys and one valet key.  The spare keys I keep in my apartment.  I next drove over to Old Greenwich, and I toured the Rummage Room thrift shop.  I then drove out to Tod's Point, and I parked and sat out at both the southwest parking area and the southeast parking area.  I then stopped by the office building at River Road in Cos Cob with all the Christopher Shays and Bush Cheney signs thinking it might be a republican campaign office, but it is not.  According to one of our local political representatives that I chatted with the Republican campaign office is in Stamford, Connecticut.  I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.  I next went by the Greenwich Library, and I read the Greenwich Time.  I then returned home.   I went upstairs, and my Fedex package from www.llbean.com arrived.  I looked at the Volvo owners manual, and it said the headlamp wiper blades just snap on, so I went out, and I installed the new pair of headlamp wiper blades.  I put the old pair one of which is still good in the box, and I put them in the luggage compartment lower compartment.  I then came upstairs, and I opened up the L.L. package that contained the items on the web linked from L.L.Bean: Factory Stores , and then on the top right of the Factory store page, I clicked on Online Bargains L.L.Bean: Sale , that I bought for $22.95 in extra large size in harvest yellow L.L.Bean: Trail Model Fleece Pullover and for $14.95 in blue and extra large L.L.Bean: Two-Layer Duofold® Underwear, Pants plus $6.95 shipping via Fedex for $44.85 total.  They fit me fine.  I put the Duofold underwear pants on the right side of the bedroom door entrance with the other cotton long underwear pants.  I put the harvest yellow fleece pullover on a hanger, and I hung it in the left living room closet sideways, so it is easily accessible.  I called the Greenwich Housing authority, and I left a message with our tenant representative that I had changed cars, but I still have the same Connecticut license plate, and I gave the Volvo year and model and color.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/12/04  Tuesday 8:25 A.M.:  Dinner was delicious.  I will now shut down the computer.  I will unplug the AC power charger from the power strip and from the Husky lantern.  It should be fully charged.  I will then go back out downtown.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/12/04  Tuesday 7:50 A.M.:  I took two boneless breasts of chicken, and I put them in a Pyrex pie dish, and I rubbed them in olive oil on both sides.  I seasoned both sides with garlic power, Old Bay Seasoning, chicken and meat seasoning, ground black pepper, celery salt, basil, and Italian spices.  I put Kraft Bulls Eye barbeque sauce on both sides.  I am cooking them in the Farberware convection oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 minutes.  I will eat one, and I will refrigerate the other in a Rubbermaid container.  I am also steaming a 10 ounce package of America's Choice frozen baby peas, half of which I will eat, and the other half I will refrigerate in a Rubbermaid container .  I also rinsed in a metal bowl underneath hot water a cup of Carolina white rice, and I strained it in a metal strainer underneath hot water.  I put it in the China Village rice cooker, and I added 14 ounces of water, two tablespoons of olive oil, and a teaspoon of sesame oil. I put the inner and outer lids on the China Village rice steamer, and I put it in the microwave oven on high for  11 minutes, and then I let it stand with the lids on it for five minutes.  I will also eat half of the rice.  I will refrigerate the other half in a Rubbermaid container, and I will eat it all with a glass of ice tea shortly.

Note: <888> 10/12/04  Tuesday 7:05 A.M.:  I tested the Husky lantern, and it works fine.  I will continue to let it fully charge until 9 A.M..  One is suppose to let it stand for two minutes before using it after charging.  I cleaned the air filters on my 15,500 BTU General Electric Profile air conditioner with the remote control.  I then disconnected it from its heavy duty extension cord, and I put the remote control in the remote control holder behind the green sofa on the window shelf.  I then checked the duct tape surrounding the two layers of Plexiglas to the left the air conditioner, and the duct tape is still in good shape.  I put a layer of duct tape around the edges to add more strength and seal out any small leaks.  I pushed in some insulation hand towels around the air conditioner.  I put the sheets of Styrofoam to the left and in front of the air conditioner, and I held them in place with duct tape.  I took the large bobby pins off the curtain above the air conditioner, and I put them on the window sill to the right of the air conditioner, so the curtain now hangs down over the air conditioner to provide additional thermal barrier.  Thus I have it secured against winter drafts.  I moved the Lasko box fan in front of the air conditioner on the window shelf to have available to blow on low fan the electric heat from the radiators out into the room once I turn the heat on instead of letting it rise into the false ceiling, once it gets cold.  I spackled all the picture hook holes and other sheet rock holes in the apartment, so they are now covered up with spackle, and it should dry about the color of the white paint.  I chatted with a friend.  I rehung the 2 foot by 4 foot Saudi Arabian hospitality flag from the center hallway bookcase, since with amount of energy we consume in this area during the winter, we all know somebody in Saudi Arabia is making money, not that any of them ever need to look me up.  I also put another pair of mittens and heavy ski gloves out on the mahogany end table by the apartment entrance with the other pair of gloves, two knit caps, and four scarves.  CIO 

Note: <888> 10/12/04  Tuesday 4:35 A.M.:  I chatted with a relative after the last message.  Today when I was departing from downtown, and I saw two black Chevrolet vans from Vermont, one of them had Rossignol http://www.rossignol.com/ on it, and the other had Scott snowboards http://www.scottusa.com/ on it, which I would take as a sure sign of colder weather.  I also noticed recently a charter bus loading people up with skis and ski equipment at the south Greenwich train station outdoor parking lot across from the Delamar hotel, so possibly there is snow in the mountains in the north country.  I was up at 12:30 A.M., and I had breakfast of oatmeal with half of a sliced banana, two slices of toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I cleaned up, and I went downtown.  I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  There is a new sports shoe shop just south of the Greenwich Avenue movie theatre that sells soccer shoes.  I drove down by the waterfront.  I returned home.  Although my Volvo has a faulty light bulb indicator light, I checked the lights anyway, and they are all alright.  For my Slymaker lantern and Slaymaker auto battery jump start system, I can not find parts for either on the internet.  They Slymaker lantern might be knock off, since it is made in China.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/11/04  Monday 3:15 P.M.:  I took a four ounce can of sliced mushrooms, and I drained and rinsed the water out of it with the lid.  I put a few tablespoons of olive oil in a small sauté pan, and I heated it over medium high electric heat, and I sautéed the mushrooms over medium to low heat stirring them regularly.  I put about four 4.5 tablespoons of olive oil and two pads of margarine in my 10 inch omelet pan, and I heated it over medium high electric heat.  I sliced seven 1 inch by 2 inch by 1/8 th inch slices of Stop and Shop cheese.  I cracked three extra large eggs in a metal bowl, and I added about 1/8th of a cup of 2% low fat milk, and I whisked it all together with a metal whisk.  Once the olive oil was heated in the omelet pan and the mushrooms were heated, I added the egg mixture to the omelet pan, and I lower the heat to medium.  I let it cook, until it began to harden on top.  I then flipped the omelet with a spatula, and I covered one half of it with the five slices of the cheese and about 90% of the mushrooms.  I then folded the bare half over the covered half, and put it on a warm dinner plate.  I put the remaining two slices of cheese on it and the remaining sautéed mushrooms and covered it with a medium to light covering grated parmesan cheese.  While cooking the omelet, I also toasted two slices of bread, and I put two pads of margarine on each and spread it, and I cut the toast in half.  I had it all for dinner with a glass of 2% low fat milk.  I don't wash my omelet pan, but I just wipe it dry with a paper towel, so it does not stick in the future, and it gradually conditions the omelet pan.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/11/04  Monday 7:05 A.M.:  I steamed the other half of a pound of angle cut sliced asparagus in a microwave proof plastic pot covering the asparagus with water and pressing the vegetable button on the General Electric microwave.  In the microwave oven I also reheated the barbeque boneless breast of chicken that I made last night and the other half of the steamed white rice, all of which I ate with a glass of iced tea and a cup of coffee.  I watched a bit of television.  For green tea health information http://www.teaforhealth.com/ .  I went through some of my regular computer sites.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out.  I think I will first go over to Home Depot www.homedepot.com  in Port Chester, New York, when I first go out.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/11/04  Monday 4:35 A.M.:  I printed out fifty calling cards, and I will keep 10 in my wallet.  Besides my personal information and picture, I put "Volunteer Personal Computer Systems Technician and Reference Work on the Internet".  At the far end of the blue couch, beside having my car maintenance items stored underneath the maple side table and mahogany end table, at the far end of the blue sofa at the end of the blue sofa, I have my two full length folding beach chairs, and my director's chair, and underneath that end of the blue sofa, I have the folding wooden card table chair, and above my bed in the bedroom in the false ceiling I have my three ground level blue and white folding beach chairs, thus I have five beach chairs stored in the apartment besides the directors chair and the folding wooden chair, I use to stand on for high reaching.  CIO 

Note: <888> 10/11/04  Monday 3:25 A.M.:  Happy Columbus Day.  Columbus Day is the day in Nantucket when the summer people leave to discover America, so keep an eye out for any people traveling from Nantucket.  After the last message, I replaced the gold towel covering my stored car maintenance items in the apartment with a light blue towel, so I have two medium blue towels and a light blue towel covering them.  I was awake at 9 P.M., when I chatted with a relative.  I had breakfast of oatmeal with half of a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went back to bed until 2:30 A.M..  I turned on MSNBC, and there was a program about the volcanic eruption in Montserrat http://www.mvo.ms/ , which showed how dangerous volcanic eruptions are and the devastation of the capitol of Montserrat named Plymouth.  I will now print out some more calling cards.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/10/04  Sunday 12:05 P.M.:  I took the hanger off the bath robe, and I hung it from the hook, so it does not protrude as much in to the bathroom doorway entrance, and I hung the bath towel from the hook over the mirror.  I also put the packages of mollies that I did not use in the yellow tool box in the hallway sweater closet.  CIO 

Note: <888> 10/10/04  Sunday 11:35 A.M.:  I went out after the last message, and I chatted with some neighbors.  I went by Exxon next to the Greenwich Library to see if they have the "Support Our Troops" magnetic ribbons to put on cars, but they only had "God Bless America" magnetic ribbons.  I  then drove down by the waterfront, and I chatted with some of the regular fishermen.  I then went downtown, and I chatted with a couple of morning people.  I sat out briefly, and I stopped by Zyn stationary, but they did not have the magnetic ribbons.  I then drove by the Greenwich Hardware store http://www.greenwichhardware.com/ , and they have both the red, white, and blue and the yellow magnetic "Support Our Troops" ribbons, but there is a warning on them that since they are magnetic and can rust, they will damage a car's paint, unless one moves them every 24 hours.  Although I support our troops, I do not feel like damaging my car's paint job, so I did not buy one.  I did buy a Amerock made in Taiwan from Rockford, Illinois BP404C solid brass garment hook with four mounting screw holes and six brass screws for $9.99 and three 2 pack of 3 inch by about a quarter inch 5024 toggle bolts for $1.29 a package of two plus .83 sales tax for $14.69 total.  I then returned home.  I tried mounting the brass hook on the left inside of the bathroom door above the mirror, but I drilled 17 holes, and I kept hitting the aluminum studs.  I finally mounted it with four brass screws on the left inside door frame, and it is very secure with four brass screws.  I then took the cranberry bathrobe off the brass hat and coat valet rack in the living room, and I hung it on the brass bathroom hook with a heavy duty plastic hanger along with my bath towel.  Thus the mirror is not covered by the bath towel hanging from the hook above it.  However, the bath robe does hang a bit in the bathroom door opening, but it is not a solid object.  I then moved the ship pictures around to cover the drilled holes in the sheet rock.  When I have time, I will buy some spackle, and I will fill them.  However, for now it is perfectly presentable.  I then moved the brass hat and coat rack valet stand from the far end of the blue sofa, and I put it in front of the wire shopping cart rack behind the apartment entrance door, and I still have the summer hats on it.  I drank some iced tea.  CIO
