Ensemble Tremblay, Allison Kiger, Flutist, Director will be in the spotlight on Tuesday, July 14, 8:00 p.m. at the acoustically superb Bar Harbor Congregational Church. This elite woodwind quintet with Phillip Silver, Pianist from the Mozart at Monteux Festival in Hancock, Maine will be heard in music by Samuel Barber, Mozart, and Ludwig Thuille.

Pianist, Steven Graff will make his Festival début on Thursday, July 2, 8:00 p.m. at the acoustically superb Bar Harbor Congregational Church. Lauded by The Chicago Sun Times as “...a World Class Pianist”, he will perform works by Mozart, Schubert, and Chopin among others.

The Pops Concert takes place in the Great Room of the Bluenose Inn with the show: “How To Live Happily Ever After”. Soprano, Janinah Burnett; Baritone, Keith Harris, Cara Chowning, Pianist and Jazz Pianist, Brian Hogan will entertain with music by Jerome Kern, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and George Gershwin.

The 32nd Annual “New Composers” Concert, “Our Voice: American Art Songs from the Beginning of the Twenty-First Century” will mark Lyric Baritone, Daniel Neer’s Festival debut. A “New Composers” Forum will be held at the Church on Tuesday, July 7 at 5:30 pm.

This year’s festival of “Sounds Around Blue Hill” will feature the renowned folksinger Noel Paul Stookey, the “Paul” of Peter, Paul and Mary. In addition, the acclaimed dance theater company Alison Chase/Performance will present a new dance work set to an original score composed and performed by Grammy Award-winning Maine composer and pianist Paul Sullivan.

Hundreds of Tractors, Engines and farming displays along with Tractor pardades, Pulling, Kids pedal pulls, Ladies skillet toss, crafters, live music, kids corner, Shingle Mill and large engine demos round out this agricultural family friendly show.

The seasonal display features hundreds of live butterflies from all over the world. Get an up close experience with these brilliant butterflies while learning about their amazing metamorphosis, the important role butterflies play in healthy ecosystems, and how to ensure these beautiful insects thrive in our own gardens.

This year’s theme is Sporting Lives and features Wilma Rudolph on July 13, Babe Ruth on July 14, and Jim Thorpe on July 15. A Chautauqua performance is an unscripted and spontaneous historical improve. After the performance, the actor steps out of character to answer questions about the historical figure.

With the performance beginning at 7 p.m., the public is invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for an evening of music, dancing, and fireworks along the Miles River. Food, ice cream, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase during the event.

Enjoy dinner before or after a show of hilarious political satire and song parodies with the nationally-acclaimed Capitol Steps, returning to Cranwell this summer. Since they began in 1981, the Capitol Steps have recorded 35 albums including their just released Mock the Vote". The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. Show duration: 90 minutes."

The MMF plays Bridge Piano Quintet, Franck Cello Sonata, Ravel and Boulanger. Brilliant violinist Joana Genova, noted violist Ariel Rudiakov, Edward Arron - “one of New York's most exciting young cellists” (New Yorker), pianist Jeewon Park, (“infectious exuberance” - NY Times), and violinist Austin Hartman, of Naumburg Award-winning Biava Quartet.

Flutist Christina Jennings (“an extraordinary musician” American Record Guide) joins violinist Jesse Holstein, violist Matthew Dane, cellist Volcy Pelletier, pianist Gregory Hayes, and soprano Alisa Pearson. Mozart’s Flute Quartet, K. 285, Beethoven’s String Trio Op. 9, No. 3, and the East Coast premiere of Robert Spillman’s “An Emily Dickinson Notebook.”

The 2015 Bastille Day Party will transport you to Paris with the most authentic atmosphere. The line-up showcases two stellar francophone acts: Paris Combo, a piquant Parisian band mixing French pop and world influences and The Hot Sardines, a Franco-American sensation with dazzling and inventive sounds. Sandwich Glass Museum is pleased to announce that for the 2nd consecutive summer, we’re teaming up with the Highland Street Foundation for the seventh annual “Free Fun Fridays” initiative which has drawn more than half a million visitors to venues throughout the Commonwealth. In 2014 alone, the program reached 150,000 people.

The Sandwich Glass Museum will feature the work of Ed Branson, a well- known and respected contemporary glass artist. Branson is the recipient of numerous awards honors and accolades and his works are part of private collections at Holyrood Palace, Scotland, Smithsonian Craft show and numerous others. His designs experiment with traditional and original techniques, testing the limits of the liquid quality of glass.
