Nuria Proaño 00320032 12-07-2023 New times in El Salvador Living with peace and without expecting that something bad happens to us is one of the best feelings and human rights that humanity needs, moving to any place, moving inside our neighborhood quietly, going to our jobs or just going to the cinema, to the park or spending the day wherever without worries. El Salvador has had a long history of violence, with the homicide rate reaching 103 per 100,000 inhabitants in 2015. This was one of the highest rates in the world, and it had a devastating impact on the country. In spite of having this record for years, in the present, the homicide rate has decreased significantly, and it is now one of the lowest in the region, because, a new leader has come to release the country in order to give better days for this country, and indeed, no one deserves to be afraid of nothing and having to get constantly involved in fear thoughts. In years before thinking about El Salvador was imagine homicides and violence everywhere, probably generated by a bad government and laws, lack of education, this small country had an amazing quantity of people being murdered, being threatened or just feeling scared of living in it. With that conditions it is really hard to live in any place, that is to say, it totally needed a change of its reality, enhance a Territorial Control handled by the security forces. One of the main reasons to quit living in that way is that a country and people living in need to feel comfortable, to improve in all possible positive ways, and any country experiencing a tough time could achieve good results, because in bad conditions it is so difficult to get a good enough quality of life, if a town or country is in peace as we know is able to obtain more incomes, more investment and financing, same that allow a better education, build dreams and reach goals. That is why, nowadays have emerged new times for El Salvador with the president Bukele and his thoughts, actions and radical measures especially against criminal gangs that had kept the country immersed in violence, fear and deaths for years before Bukele. The criminal gangs in this country were well-known due to all the terrible things they did, how they ended with hundreds of lives, millions of dreams and thousands of family’s relationships. Bukele´s government has enabled to recover the peace, the mental and physical rest that Salvadoran deserved. This evidence proves the fact that is true that when the things do well, we can get good results, because it shows how avoiding corruption a person could return to citizens love and confidence on their country. El Salvador still faces considerable challenges in consolidating its pacification process. The root causes of violence, such as social inequality, poverty and lack of opportunities, need to be addressed continually. In addition, there is a need to maintain the commitment to security policies and to continue strengthening law enforcement institutions to fight day by day against any person, situation that avoid continuing with all the changes done. Definitely, Bukele has been a determining factor in the reduce of violence in El Salvador. His security policies and strategies have been the base to achieve this acknowledgement, his changes and strategies are the cause of this positive and great development. Since the beginning Bukele decided to increase the presence of security forces in the streets, which has been key to guaranteeing the security of citizens. Although, President Bukele has decreased a lot the deaths, the violence and has given so much peace and a real life to the Salvadoran, and also despite of having a lot of acceptance, over 80 percent, on the other hand, Bukele's policies have been criticized for violating human rights. Human rights organizations have documented cases of arbitrary detention, torture, and excessive use of force by the security forces, they have also raised concerns about the restriction of press freedom, and, in general, there are institutions and citizens who strongly disagree with the way he thinks, acts and does the things, because they probably agree with human rights and do not see the good results for them and El Salvador, they only focused on how the security forces treat the members of the gangs, without any respect, without taking care of their alleged rights. Other of the things that some people do not accept are that, whether someone is committing something that is not legally right or goes against the human rights of the rest, or only they belong to gangs they can be held without charged for up to 15 days, even without being informed why they are being arrested and nor a lawyer to help them. Additionally, the good results are also due to the help and collaboration among different sectors of Salvadoran society, this collaboration has been really important and crucial to obtain every change that this country has reached until this time. Civil society, non-governmental organizations, and the community at large have come together to comprehensively address the problem of violence. Social reintegration programs, education initiatives, and employment opportunities have been established to provide alternatives for at-risk youth and prevent their involvement in criminal activities. This cooperation between the government and society has created an environment conducive to change and the construction of a culture of peace. Just thinking about people killing, using violence and having bad actions against good people is so sad, and generates many sadness and helplessness feelings. Then, it is not possible that anyone cannot experience anger and want to eliminate all these terrible situations and at the same time try to avoid destroying a society and country as the rest in the world that only expects to live in a good way, with happiness, calm and gaining money honestly, working and living quietly. Disagreeing with the thoughts, methods and the way the President Bukele in El Salvador is reacting against gangs and people who do not act well, people who do not follow laws and rules for a good life, is being unconscious of the reality, is experiencing another world, another life style, is like staying in a bubble, and not only a clear bubble; a dark and foggy one what does not allow to see beyond their noises or their unreal life. Now, the majority of Salvadoran are believing and creating better moments together their families, now children and the youth there go out from their houses, schools, university and more with the hope to return home safe and well, and what is that a society really needs and deserves now and always during the time God have them alive in the earth, in this beautiful, incredible and amazing universe. Firstly, people who do not cause damage, who do not use violence against people, first, people who really deserve to be in this world, their human rights and after, but by far, criminals that honestly should not exist, not have to be alive and all the weight of law must fall on them until remove them from the world or at least alienate them so far from the good ones. And, everything the security forces do to keep them apart from society and arrest or held them only by the fact that they belong to a criminal gang, or without taking care if they are young people or not, it is ok, because letting them continue doing all the terrible or bad things they do is help them to grow with a worst thinking and allow them to do worst things in the future, the time is now, and everything that halt the good way of the things must not exist to maintain doing that kind of things. To sum up, the new time, the new direction, course and change of orientation that El Salvador is experiencing with President Bukele´s policies have allowed it to get better, equal and improvement opportunities for children to grow happy, for young people to think in better days where they can go to study, to visit a family member wherever without smelling danger, risk and insecurity. The criminal gangs and people who generate hopelessness need to learn to have inner humanity, not to taking lives because they are not God, they are not anyone to kill widely to the rest, to good ones, if they killed each other among bad people, it would be different, but it is not like that. Countries in all the whole world, in every place in it should be take this example from El Salvador or better said, from Bukele´s policies to enhance a society, to improve our world. Currently, this world does not support more, there are many environmental issues, poverty everywhere, global warming, corruption wherever people are, lack of education and obviously, lack of conscious, so despite of these, people struggle minute by minute to at least having a calm and comfortable life, a hard life, but with a lot of reasons to be in it, to live it.
