Vintage Automobile Museum of New Jersey Vol. 9, No.4, P3 VAMNJ EDUCATION COMMITTEE REPORT FOR 2011Our internally developed “History on Wheels” educational program visited the following 3 schools in 2011: By Denny Derion Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin Jackson Memorial High School Lacey Township High School (Spring and Fall) and informational display at the Scouting University at Brackman Middle School, Barnegat In addition, Antique Car Displays were held at the following businesses and community groups: Golden Bell Diner Harley-Davidson of Lakewood American Legion in Toms River Shore Acres Yacht Club Causeway Ford in Manahawkin Brandywine Assisted Living in Howell Columbus Day and St. Patrick’s Day Parades in Seaside Heights Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day Parades in Toms River Green Island Community Celebration Mirage Men’s Club in Barnegat Chelsea Assisted Living in Silverton Community Hospital in Toms River Johnson Brother’s Boat Show in Point Pleasant Silver Ridge West in Toms River Bey Lea Village Assisted Living in Toms River Friend’s House Assisted Living in Toms River Pulte Homes in Lakehurst Charlie’s Pizza in Toms River Lakewood Courtyard Assisted Living Summerville Assisted Living in Manahawkin Lacey Christian Church Shore Dreams For Kids Rose Garden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Toms River The program has been a continuing success with attendance totaling in excess of 2000 students from 6th thru the 10th grades and many adults. Many appreciative comments were received from students, teachers and senior citizens alike. The Museum Speaker’s Bureau made PowerPoint presentations to the following groups in 2011: Point Pleasant Council and Parking Authority Point Pleasant Historical Society Original Garden State Corvette Club in Deptford Ankokas Region AACA in Haddonfield Summerville Assisted Living in Manahawkin Surf Corvette Club in Brick Barnegat Rotary Club Point Pleasant Rotary Club North Shore Antique Automobile Club in Howell (2) Antique Automobile Club of Monmouth County in Little Silver Garden State Journalists’ Association in Red Bank Vintage Automobile Museum of New Jersey Vol. 9, No.4, P4 MUSEUM MEMBERSHIP Renew your membership or Join the Museum now.
