Analysis
Positives: Hard worker who has a small, but well-defined body with above average stop-&-go action...Flashes quickness off the line, maintaining balance and body control in and out of his breaks...Plays at a low pad level that allows him to uncover from defenders in the open...Extends his arms and snatches the ball with his hands...Excels at working back to the ball, showing fearlessness going up for the pass in traffic...Exciting game-breaker on returns, moving effortlessly past defenders...Displays good acceleration to avoid the initial tackler and does a good job of tracking the ball in flight...Has the leg drive needed to break tackles near the line and despite his size, shows power, determination and a solid hand punch to disengage from the press coverage...Effective on crossing patterns and shows flexibility in his adjustments turning on the ball...Gives a good blocking effort upfield in run support...One of the more versatile players around, and can also be an effective nickel back, with considerable experience at the opposite side of the ball.
Negatives: While tough over the middle, he tends to "short arm" (keeps his hands near his body) working for the ball in traffic...His slight frame could be a problem vs. the more physical pro cornerbacks...Shows effective moves to separate from the press coverage, but his lack of size causes him to get redirected at times coming off the snap...Does not have natural hands, tending to absorb the ball into his body, but will give total effort to combat for the ball in traffic...Needs to secure the ball better before turning upfield, as he's had fumble issues in the past.

A special talent who was one of the most versatile players in college football...A solid possession-type receiver with good return skills, he also proved to be a dangerous threat on reverses and an effective defender at the free safety position...An outstanding contributor on special teams, he is regarded as having average hands, but makes big plays in game situations...The nation's kickoff return champion in 2000, he finished his career with 109 receptions for 1544 yards (14.2 avg) and 13 touchdowns, adding 235 yards and three scores on 41 carries (5.7 avg), 1513 yards and three touchdowns on 61 kickoff returns (24.8 avg), 34 tackles (25 solos) with three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a blocked punt that he returned 10 yards for a score, as he amassed 3302 all-purpose yards...His 109 catches rank ninth on the school's career-record list, while his 1544 yards receiving rank eighth...His 61 kickoff returns for 1513 yards broke the old Horned Frogs career-records of 59 attempts for 1276 yards by Toby Morey (1989-91) and his three kick offs for scores established a school all-time record.

All-Conference USA first-team selection as an all-purpose back by The NFL Draft Report... Lined up at the "X" receiver position, finishing second on the team with 31 receptions for 449 yards (14.5 avg) and four touchdowns...Carried 18 times for 121 yards (6.7 avg) and a score...Returned 18 kickoffs for 501 yards (27.8 avg) and a touchdown...Only Allen Hooker (557 in 1975), Toby Morey (615 in 1990) and his 2000 total of 506 yards, gained more yards on kickoff returns in a season for the Horned Frogs...Also recorded a career-high 18 tackles (14 solos) with two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
