2. Connecting USB keyboard and Setting BIOS settings
Connect a USB keyboard in any free and working USB port available in the ECDIS , the USB keyboard is required sing the integrated keyboard of ECDIS unit does not contain the DEL key. Next step is to power the unit and at same time to press the DEL key in the USB keyboard. By doing the above step we can access the BIOS settings and more accurate the Boot menu in order to alter the devises boot sequence.
****Now is the time to insert also the rescue DVD into the ECDIS DVD drive. ***
i. Once on bios select the boot menu as per below picture BIOS Boot menu (Default settings) ii. Find an entry that says "Boot Priority Order. iii. Use the UP/DOWN arrow key and the +/- keys to toggle the boot order such that "ATAPI CD:ATAPI iHAS324" is the very first (top) in the boot order.

iv. Press Fin the USB keyboard to save the changes and select Yes to save and reboot the ECDIS unit. v. The ECDIS will boot from the DVD, and the following display will appear. It is not necessary to press the Enter key to start booting. vi. After about 30 seconds, the following "device information" and "menu" will appear. The software upgrade and chart data conversion are made through this menu.
