Note: <888> 10/29/12 Monday 7:00 A.M.  I woke up at 5 A.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and milk and sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a 12 ounce glass of watered down punch, and a cup of coffee with Splenda sweetener and milk. I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made my bed. I have been watching the Weather Channel on TV National and Local Weather Forecast, Hurricane, Radar and Report . I chatted with a friend who is staying at his apartment on the waterfront in East Fairfield Beach. He says the apartments are 10 feet above the ground. My New York City observers are currently in Mauritius - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia after a cruise of the India Ocean, and they will not be back in New York City until Wednesday morning. I have another relative living in Manhattan whom might be in a flood zone, but he has lots of friends, and I have not heard from him. CIO

Note: <888> 10/28/12 Sunday 1:05 P.M.   I took a plastic microwave proof pot, and I put in a 15 ounce jar of Bertolli garlic alfredo sauce, and I seasoned it with Old Bay Seasoning, garlic powder, ground black pepper, celery salt, Italian seasoning and a quarter of a cup of extra virgin olive oil, and I mixed it all together with a pound of Alaska imitation crab, and I put a lid on it, and I put in the GE microwave oven.  I filled up with water a five quart Revere pot up to about two inches from the top, and I added a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and a teaspoon of salt, and I brought it to a boil with lid on, and I removed the lid, and I added a 16 ounce box of Barilla linguine, and I boiled it for ten minutes stirring it.  While doing that, I ran the alfredo sauce and crab mixture on three vegetable microwave cycles.  I drained the linguine, and I added it to the mixing bowl, and I added a third of a cup of grated parmesan and Romano cheese and a quarter cup of extra virgin olive oil, I added the alfredo sauce and mixed it all together thoroughly.  I put about a third on a dinner plate, and I refrigerated two thirds in a Rubbermaid container.  I ate the mixture with a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com .  I chatted with a relative.   The have a dog event on the Greenwich Common this afternoon.  Maybe the Indian Harbor Yacht Club is having a hurricane party.  I was told that the low lying areas of Old Greenwich are being evacuated.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/27/12 Saturday 4:20 P.M.  I ate the rest of the linguine and alfredo and bay scallop mixture with a 12 ounce glass of Schweppes Ginger Ale.

I noticed while I was out at Tod's Point this morning at high tide during a full moon in October, the water was up to about 2.5 feet from the road.  Thus in a day or two, when we get the hurricane with the high tides this time of year, there could be some major flooding along the shoreline in this area.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/27/12 Saturday 3:10 P.M.  I went downtown, and I walked lower Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  At the Taco Joint across from the Greenwich Train Station there was a wounded pigeon on the ground fluttering its wings.  I did not touch it so as not to disturb it.  I called the Greenwich Police, and they said they would send someone over.  However, after about 10 minutes the pigeon quit moving, and when I touched it with my foot, it appeared dead.  A local merchant was sweeping the sidewalk, so he lifted the dead pigeon up with a broom and put it in the rear of a nearby garbage truck.  I did not touch the pigeon, since pigeons can have lice.  About that time the police showed up, and I told them the pigeon was dead.  After walking lower Greenwich Avenue, I used the bathroom at Starbucks.  I then sat out for a while.  I then drove over to Staples in Old Greenwich arriving about 7:45 A.M..  They opened at 9 A.M., and there were only three other customers, so there was not a large crowd waiting to buy Windows 8 products.  I bought Windows 8 Pro which comes with both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions for $69.99 less the $30 off coupon good only today mentioned earlier in my notes and $2.54 tax for $42.53 total.   I then bought two three packs of clamp binders for $8.29 a three pack less a online 20% off coupon for $1.66 off and .95 tax for $15.87 total.  I then drove over to Old Greenwich.  I went to the The Haircut Place - Old Greenwich Connecticut , and I got my hair cut short for $25.86 and $5 tip for $30.86 total.  I then chatted with a relative on my wireless telephone.  I then toured the Old Greenwich Rummage Room thrift shop.  On the way out of the parking lot by the Old Greenwich Fire Station, I noticed men and young men filling sand bags from a large pile of sand.  I then drove out to Tod's Point. I sat by the Southwest Parking area, and I chatted with a relative on my wireless telephone.  I then used the men's room at the new convenience station.  It is a quite nice rest room facility they built.  I then walked out the to the Southwest Picnic area, and I sat out for a while.  I then drove over to the Southeast Picnic, and I used the rest room, and I chatted with a local jogger.  I sat out for a while.  I then returned back to downtown Greenwich Avenue.  I chatted with a friend on my wireless telephone.  I then used the bathroom at Starbucks.  I sat out for a while enjoying the weather, and I chatted with a local walker.  I then used the bathroom at Starbucks a while.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought buy one six pack of Thomas' English muffins for $4.19 get two six packs free, two 19 ounce Stouffer's meat lasagnas for $2.50 each, bananas for .79 a pound for .66 and a 24 ounce package of Simply mashed potatoes for $2.50 for $12.35 total.  I then returned home, and I put away my groceries.  I had a telephone message from Linda McMahon for Senate 2012 campaign.  I saw the Republican Campaign headquarters on East Putnam Avenue in Cos Cob with lots of signs around it, but it is hard to find a parking place in that area.  Plus I am so big anymore, I might scare the volunteers.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/27/12 Saturday 6:10 A.M.  I reheated and ate half of the remaining linguine, alfredo, and bay scallop mixture with a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com .  I will now go downtown for a walk.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/26/12 Friday 11:20 A.M.  Instead of clean up, I took my bedroom air conditioner out, which is sort of a tedious process.  First I had to move all of the items away from the window area.  Then one removes the duct tape from the left side Plexiglas.  I then hoisted the air conditioner out of the window on to the bed.  The air conditioner probably weighs about 70 pounds.  I then used my little folding cart from the rear of the Audi, and I rolled the air conditioner from the bedroom to near the rear side of the Ethan Allen recliner which I had moved forward temporarily.  I then slid it into place against the wall.  I then put everything back into position in both the living room and bedroom.  I put a Lakso fan in the opened bedroom window with screen to get a little bit of fresh air.  The bedroom window is easy enough to open and close at night, since it slides easily.  I will wait a couple of weeks to take the living room air conditioner out which is less tedious, and it only weighs about 40 pounds.  I threw out some garbage and I chatted with the ceiling installer about the hurricane.  I will now shower and clean up.  Also with the bedroom air conditioner out, I do not have to worry about rain getting into the apartment with the hurricane.  The living room air conditioner is in tighter in the living room window, so there should be no leakage problem.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/26/12 Friday 9:35 A.M.  I chatted with a relative.  I ate a few day old muffin.  Another reason for not installing Windows 8 on one of my IBM ThinkCentres is that with a hurricane coming, I might not want to deal with tech problems for a while.  Recent tracking on Hurricane Sandy is Hurricane SANDY Tracking .   Residents, boaters urged to prepare for 'Frankenstorm' - GreenwichTime .  I will now shower and clean up.  CIO

!!!!!! Note: <888> 10/26/12 Friday 7:45 A.M.  I bought and downloaded the 32 bit version of Windows 8 Pro for $39.99 Buy Windows - Microsoft Windows .  One downloads an application that tells one if one can run Windows 8 on one's machine.  One can not buy or download it, if one's computer will not run Windows 8.  I saved the download to an *.iso file, and I burned three DVD copies.  I also copied the download to a pen drive and saved it on other machines.  I also did the paper work for receipts and saving the product key.  I can not figure out, if I want to install it on any of my IBM ThinkCentres just yet.  The best one would be an upgrade on the IBM ThinkCentre by the hallway entrance, since its video card supports two monitors and it has a new 500 gigabyte hard drive.  However, it only has two gigabytes of memory, where the first and second IBM ThinkCentres have three gigabytes of memory, but do not support a second monitor.  I will have to think about it for a while, and possibly even wait for a few days or more to install it.  I also do not have enough external hard drive space to back it up once I have Windows 8 installed.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/26/12 Friday 4:35 A.M.  I woke up at 7:30 P.M., when I got the Town of Greenwich emergency telephone message about Hurricane Sandy early next week Preparations for Hurricane Sandy Underway - Town of Greenwich, Connecticut .  I finally woke up at 3 P.M..   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and milk and sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a 12 ounce glass of watered down punch, and a cup of coffee with Splenda sweetener and milk. I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made my bed. CIO

Note: <888> 10/25/12 Thursday 1:55 P.M.  I chatted with a relative.  I lightly toasted 4 slices of Stop and Shop 12 grain bread, and I took a 5 ounce can of Bumble Bee solid white albacore tuna fish, and I opened the can, and I left the lid on, and I drained it underneath cold water.  I then pressed the lid down to squeeze out the water.  I then flaked the tuna fish into small chunks with a fork in a mixing bowl.  I added two quarter inch thick slices of Bermuda onion diced into quarter inch cubic chunks and 10 large black pitted olives cut in half, and I season the mixture with Old Bay Seasoning, celery salt, ground black pepper, Italian seasoning, two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and two large heaping tablespoons of Hellmann's olive oil mayonnaise, and I mixed it all together.  I put the four slices of bread on a dinner plate, and I spread one fourth of the tuna mixture on each of the slices of bread.  I ate the open faced sandwiches with a bowl of Lays barbecue potato chips and a 12 ounce glass of A&W root beer.  I think if we are having a hurricane come our way, we should build up our energy by eating a little bit more food.  Also usually before election day, the various local politicians try to make food cheaper, so one might vote for them.  Then after election day, one goes back to being hungry.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/25/12 Thursday 12:15 P.M.  I noticed while I was out for my walk, they took out the tree stump at the entrance to the board of education parking lot.  They also removed the center row of trees from the Greenwich Common.  CIO

Note: <888> 10/25/12 Thursday 11:55 A.M.  I went out, and I went by CVS on Greenwich Avenue.  I told somebody I know that lives on the waterfront about the hurricane threat.  I bought a 12 pack of Scott 1000 sheet toilet paper $7.49 and a two small tube package of CVS super glue gel for $2.27 and .62 tax for $10.38 total.  There was a dollar off sticker on the Scott toilet paper, they forgot to take off and use.  I will see if they will give me the dollar later.  I then went further downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  I chatted with a few local people.  I toured CVS again, and I used the bathroom there.  I stopped by the Greenwich Hardware store http://www.greenwichhardware.com/ to tell them about the hurricane threat.  After I finished by walk, I went by the A&P Fresh.  I bought two 12 ounce packages of Purdue chicken cutlets for $2.99 each package, bananas for .79 a pound for .55, a plastic bottle of America's choice honey mustard for $1.34, bay scallops for $4.99 a pound for $5.09, a package of imitation Alaska crab for $2.99 a pound for $2.27, and a Bermuda onion for $1.79 a pound for $1.32 for $16.50 total.  I then returned back to Chateau Chez Vinci.  I put away my groceries.  I hung the plate back up on the wall above the sweater closet, where it was before.  It looks just fine.  On the back it says "22 Karat Gold", so I guess it has gold leaf paint on it.  CIO
