Note: <888> 10/21/12 Sunday 5:25 A.M. This past Thursday, www.staples.com spammed their email list by sending out multiple messages by mistake, so this morning I got an email with a $20 off over $50 internet or store purchase, which is how I got the $20 off over $50 Staples purchase coupon. Since I never use the IBM ThinkCentres except for beta testing and as backup emergency office equipment in case, a higher power ever needed a backup office, I might not put the copy Windows 8 on one of the IBM ThinkCentres, since it would probably never be used. I think I might save it in case I ever do some major upgrade of my primary work computer or laptops sometime in the future. However, I never use the two Dell Latitude D410 laptops except for vacation, so that might be necessary. I will have to think about it. Still it is a good price, since after the initial offering price, it will be $200. I also have a spare unused copy of Windows 7 Home Edition. If I did a hardware upgrade of the primary work computer, it would cripple my existing licenses, so I would probably not do that either. CIO

Note: <888> 10/21/12 Sunday 3:05 A.M. I chatted with a relative. I did some system's maintenance on the primary work computer. I showered, and I cleaned up. I ate a Boston Market 15 ounce turkey medallions dinner with a 12 ounce glass of Sprite. I watched Episode 5 of "King Edward VII". In Episode 4 last night, they said that during the United States of America Civil War, Abraham Lincoln dried to convince France to Invade Canada to weaken England for helping the Southern States. CIO
Note: <888> 10/20/12 Saturday 8:40 P.M. I woke up at 7 A.M.. I picked up the mail. The order with tracking number of "9102927009262002098640" at www.fedex.com for the new remote controls for the Cable TV boxes arrived. They one since one, when I have two cable boxes. I put it on the right side of the Ethan Allen recliner with the old one. I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and milk and sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, a 12 ounce glass of watered down punch, and a cup of coffee with Splenda sweetener and milk. I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made my bed. CIO
Note: <888> 10/20/12 Saturday 9:05 A.M. I threw out the garbage. I chatted with two neighbors. I finished updating Windows XP Professional on the Panasonic Toughbook CF-29. It no longer has the Chrome OS operating system on it. I will now shut down the primary work computer, and I will go to bed soon. CIO
Note: <888> 10/20/12 Saturday 7:00 A.M. I watched Episode 4 of "King Edward VII". I ate a 8.75 ounce bag of Chex Cheese mix. CIO
Note: <888> 10/20/12 Saturday 5:10 A.M. When I tried to reboot the Panasonic CF-29 laptop computer to complete the Windows 8 demo installation, it gave an error message that the processor will not support Windows 8. I deleted the Windows 8 partition. I am now installing the updates on Windows XP Professional from the restored backup of it. I ate a bowl of Lays salt and vinegar potato chips. CIO
Note: <888> 10/20/12 Saturday 3:35 A.M. I ate a Maria Callender 14.5 ounce beef pot pie with a 12 ounce glass of A&W root beer. CIO
Note: <888> 10/20/12 Saturday 3:05 A.M. On the Panasonic Toughbook CF-29, I did a 1% low level format writing zeros with the Seagate Utilities to eliminate the Chrome OS Linux partitions along with the Windows XP Professional partition. I then restored the Windows XP Professional installation with Paragon restore from an external USB drive that I had the backup on using 50% of the 40 gigabyte hard drive. I then tried to install the Windows 8 32 bit 90 days demo by booting the DVD, but the DVD would not boot giving a processor error message. I then booted Windows XP Professional, and I created a second 20 gigabyte partition with free space. I then ran the Windows 8 setup, and I am now installing Windows 8 to the second partition. Of course, I don't know if it will boot until after the installation is complete. It is a slow installation with 20% complete after 15 minutes. CIO

Note: <888> 10/16/12 Tuesday 9:10 A.M. I watched the end of the movie "Roger's Rangers". I used to know quite a few members of the Roger's family, but I guess they all have disappeared from this area over the years as it got more expensive. The Scott family name used to be the most common family name on Park Avenue in the 1970s, but perhaps they all moved some place else where it is less expensive. I have not the foggiest idea. They do not allow me to go out in the daytime around here in nice weather, so the people older than myself can have the town all to themselves. There are only a few stragglers downtown at night anymore. I guess somebody could go up to Danbury when the Dalai Lama is in this area, and see if we can get financial aid from his church, but since he now lives in India, he probably does not have much in the way of financial resources. I read years ago, when he visited Manhattan, they did not feed him any meat thinking he was a vegetarian. Maybe they should take him to Fresh milk products and great customer service at Stew Leonard's! in Danbury and give him something to eat. In Greenwich, Connecticut because the real estate is so expensive, everything else is also expensive. I have plenty of food, so I am not starving, but at 230 pounds, I have been trying to lose some weight. When I arrived back in Greenwich, Connecticut off of Nantucket in December 1983, I only weighed 150 pounds, but I quickly put on weight eating yogurt and orange juice for breakfast and dinner at the Greenwich Hospital cafeteria for about $2.50 which is now more expensive. Of course I was on medication to slow down my metabolism, so my system could absorb more nourishment. CIO
