7.5Installing a Virus Scanner (Optional)
The installation and setup of the virus scanner is not part of this documentation. The installation must be performed according to the vendor's instructions.
The time base of the Linux server PC should be in sync with the other components in the customer network and the official local time. To achieve this, it is recommended that access to an SNTP server be set up in the Linux installation. Depending on the customer environment, the following options can be selected as the time base.
7.6.1Synchronization with a Time Server on the Customer Network
If a time server exists on the customer network, it should preferably be used.
In this case, the IP address or URL of this time server should be entered.
7.6.2Synchronization with a Time Server on the Internet
If Internet access is available and has been set up in Linux on the OpenScape Office server PC, the URL for the time server on the Internet should be entered.
7.6.3Synchronization with a Time Server in HiPath 3000
For OpenScape Office HX installations, the LAN board HiPath 3000 can alternatively also be used as a time server, provided that HiPath 3000 is connected to the public network via ISDN lines and synchronizes the system time on this network.
In this case, the LAN board must be first set up for use as a time server, and the IP address of
the board should then be entered as a time server within Linux.
7.7Setting up a Firewall 7.7.1Setting up the Firewall for OpenScape Office HX
After the installation of OpenScape Office HX the internal firewall is disables. It is stronly recommended to enabled the firewall manually. The option of automatic enabling at system (re)start should be activated within the Linux configuration.
Within the firewall settings no ports are opend for external access by default. If external avccess is required the appropirate ports and services have to be added manually. For internaL access all ports and services are enabled by default.
A list of the services, protocols and ports used by OpenScape Office HX can be found in chapter 9.
The Linux firewall is adjusted by the OpenScape Office installation program as needed in order to allow the operation of OpenScape Office.
No entries should be made in the firewall settings before the installation of OpenScape Office, since OpenScape Office changes the settings of the firewall during the installation.
After the installation of OpenScape Office HX / LX, the internal firewall is enabled, and all OpenScape Office services are released, except for the following:
The firewall can be disabled in cases where the OpenScape Office server PC is protected against unauthorized access by some other firewall solution.
7.8Setting up an Intrusion Detection System 7.8.1Setting up fpr OSO HX
Installation programm of OSO HX does not modify the settiong of the integrated intrusion detection system of the SLES (AppsArmor). The default settings of the Linux installation stay unchanged.
No further settings are required for the operation of OpenScape Office.
7.8.2Setting up for OSO LX
During the OpenScape Office installation, the integrated intrusion detection system of the SLES (AppsArmor) is updated and activated.
No further settings are required for the operation of OpenScape Office.
