d.Try and Buy (TAB) Program
The Try and Buy program allows customers to try a product with the agreement to either:
Return the product within a specified time period (usually 30 days)
Accept the product and be invoiced for receipt of the product
When a Deal ID is present on a Try and Buy Order, the trial period is obtained from the Deal. When Deal ID is not present on a TAB (Try and Buy) order, Trial Period is defaulted to 90 days. However, the Telepresence Trial Period will default to 120 days.
To place a Try and Buy order, partners flag the order by inserting CiscoProgram=TAB in the product line item proprietaryInformation.FreeFormText field.
The optional nature of the TAB order is indicated by a cardinality value of 0..1 in the table that follows.
Table 35: PIP 3A4 Version 02.00.00 - Try and Buy Program
TAB Order processing fails under following conditions:
If the order is an US government order or an eRate code is provided
If the order is for stocking purposes, that is, GlobalPurchaseOrderTypeCode is evaluation, sample, or replenishment
If the order contains only services-lines
If no service to hardware product linkage could be established
If a contact email ID is not supplied in the ProprietaryInformation field (PurchaseOrder.ContactInformation.EmailAddress=)
Invalid TAB deal on a TAB order will result in an order rejection
e.Trade-In Migration Orders
The Cisco Trade-In Migration Program allows customers to trade in used Cisco equipment to obtain a sales credit against a new product order. TAB orders having a trade in promotional code, but no Deal ID will result in an order rejection. Value for CTMP Quote number is to be derived from the Quote UI and is specified under TradeIn Quote Number.
Participation in CTMP is optional, as evidenced by a cardinality value of 0..1 in the table that follows.

| f.eRate Orders
With the eRate ordering program, partners may obtain government discounts for educational programs. Partners need to provide the eRate number to product line item proprietary information.

An eRate order cannot be a US Government order or a TAB order. If a DPAS code and / or CiscoProgram=TAB is given, Cisco rejects the order.
An eRate order cannot be a service only order. If there are no Cisco products in this PO, Cisco accepts this order; however, the given eRate code is dropped.
g.Promotional Orders
Promotion Orders are placed to qualify for a sales promotion. The customer is required to supply a Promotion Code. Validation of special pricing occurs when the order is placed. Please get a Promotion Code from your Cisco sales representative.
