3.2.
Research Method
3.2.1 Data sources
The sources of data employed for this research were obtained from primary and secondary sources. Secondary data were obtained mainly from journals, textbooks, online readings, current and past newspaper articles, official documents, majority of which were retrieved from commonly used internet search engines. Primary data sources include responses to a structured questionnaire survey administered on both residents within the study area, the waste management regulatory agency and the newly appointed municipal waste collection company in Lagos, as well

23 as field photographs taken by the author that reveal the current situation. The questionnaire administered on the government agencies were specifically targeted at confirming some of the information provided by residents in the study area as away of ensuring that the most accurate data is being processed.
