The IPA also provides various tools for the phonetic study of human languages. One of such resources is The North Wind and the Sun story. In order to create a uniform system for the description of the sounds of languages, this is a recommended text for transcription (both narrow and broad, especially for publishing the IPA illustrations of languages in the IPA journal.
