Activities performed: General roles consisted of planning the work and organizing the environmental team in undertaking in fulfilling EIB environmental requirements for the Project. The tasks consisted of the following for the Pre-Construction Stage: (1) Collection, review and assessment of all design and tender documents for each section of the Project with regard to the environmental tasks; (2) Check the availability and content of the Environmental Management Plans of all sections of the project. (3) In new alignment not covered in the EIA, came up with framework for the EIA and supervised the preparation by the appointed national Consultant. (4) Review EIA/EMP of the Consultant; (5) Conduct site visits as far as necessary to be informed about sensitive areas with regard to environmental aspects including reporting. (6) Review, assessment of and comment on environmental impact abatements measures of each section of the Project. (7) Prepare a quality control program in cooperation with the overall Quality Control Program of the PCIU.
