Sanderson's article, which pre-dates by 7 years the famous Patterson-Gimlin film, includes an account of the William Roe sighting in British Columbia (1955), and the Chapman account in southwest B. C. (1941). The Roe account, recently challenged by a skeptical researcher who actually did no true research, has since been remarkably strengthened by recent findings by someone who actually did ground-breaking research. The Chapman account has been and remains very interesting and potent. PLEASE NOTE that this copy is one we list only in fair condition because the bottom half of the back cover of the magazine has been torn off. Full-page presentation (not by author) dated 12-12-38 from "Jimmy" to "Letha and Bonny". The presenter relates that "On my way home last summer, on the train I met (name withheld by your bookseller) of Alliance Nebr who was well-acquainted with 'Old Jules' and all the family. He said the book doesn't tell the half of it!" Jimmy continues on about "crazy" Jules "loaf(ing) around the gambling joints" & that Jules was "generally thought" of as "crazy", it being the only thing that kept him from being killed. An opening & closing statement relates the presenter's respect for Mari Sandoz & pioneer Nebraska. Long superficial scratch on back cover; very good; no dj.
