Vol I front cover loosening from the joint. Faded spines dressed so they don't look so faded on the shelf. All edges gilt, but a 3/4" x 1 1/2" area on the bottom edge of vol. I has the gilt removed. An ink stain had bled into the bottoms of the page margins of that volume & was carefully removed, but also removing the gilt at that location. Some shadows or outlines on the page margins where the ink was removed. For someone who will be using these volume rather hard, some joint work/reinforcement would be important for the long haul. But, with all faults mentioned, this set will economically serve someone's use well. Vol. I has etching of Shelley. Vol. II has fold out facsimile of Shelley's writing.
