Rig types (Electrical & Mechanical) :

  • Block Diagram For Electrical Rig:

EleCTRICAL RIG :

The Power System Trailer contains a lot of parts:

DC CURRENT

HP REQUIREMENT SELECTION:

  • We have 2 type of rigs :
  • Workover Rigs.

  • 350 HP - 950 HP.

    2) Drilling Rigs.

    1000 HP - 3000 HP.

HP REQUIREMENT SELECTION:

  • When We want to choose the rig HP , We should care about a lot of things:
  • Depth of the Well for Drilling & Work Over.

  • 2) Maximum Weight of string and BHA (Bottom Hole Assembly).

    3) Maximum Pump Capacity (depends on the pressure "psi" & capacity "gph").

We calculate The Capacity @ 1st Section because there it has the biggest value and we calculate the Pressure @ last Section. (When we go down, the capacity decreases & the pressure increases).

HP REQUIREMENT SELECTION:

  • When We want to choose the rig HP , We should care about a lot of things:

  • 4) Maximum Hoisting Load.

    5) Over pull jobs (like Jarring, Fishing, stuck & others).

    6) Mud System (The components of the mud system (like mud pump) are selected by the biggest volume in the well) and then the HP of mud system is chosen.

RIG COMPONENTS:

  • V-door: Inclined ramp used to lay down pipes (L/D from Rig Floor to Cat walk) or Pick Up (P/U pick up from the Catwalk to the Rig Floor).

RIG COMPONENTS:

  • Cat Walk: Flat Area connected in the end of V-door used to put the pipes on it from Rack pipe to V-door.
