Hiking Trips



Summary: There are numerous websites offering excellent information on hiking trails available. GORP’s website http://gorp.away.com/index offers good summary descriptions. Localhikes’ website http://www.localhikes.com/ offers more in depth information on trails. Trails.com offers free limited information, and full service on a subscription basis. Planners can use average speeds of 1.2-2.7 MPH (depending on gradient) as a benchmark for time requirements.
