The study programme – „Home Environment and Information

Technologies in Education”



The code of the programme – 42141

The duration of the programme – 4 academic years of full-time studies or

5 academic years of part-time studies



Amount of credits – 160 CP

Requirements for those, starting studies at the study programme – general

secondary education or 4-year secondary vocational education



Qualification obtained – Teacher of Household/Home Economics and

Primary School Teacher of Information Technologies



Degree obtained - Professional Bachelor in Education

Requirements for getting the diploma – to acquire general courses, pedagogy, psychology, research methodology, teaching methodology of household, home economics and information technologies, and professional specialization courses in household, home economics and information technologies, to complete 26CP practice, to write and defend a Bachelor paper.

The program is headed by – the Institute of Education and Home Economics,

Faculty of Engineering, LLU

The study program is confirmed by the LLU Senate on September 11, 2002.

theoretical courses – 122 CP,

The structure of the study program Home Environment and Information Technologies in Education is organized according to the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers on the second level professional higher education state standard (No. 481, 20. 11. 2001) determining the structure of the compulsory contents of the program

The following courses are acquired in the study program:

  • General courses in the field of natural sciences, social sciences and humanitarian sciences, for getting of comprehensive academic education and problem solving ability;

  • Pedagogics, Psychology, Didactics, Research Methodology, Methods of Home Economics and Information Technologies and students have pedagogical and methodical practice in order to develop the necessary pedagogical, social and reflection competence;

  • Culture and Art, Food Chemistry, Physics - courses giving the necessary theoretical basis for studies;

  • courses that are necessary to obtain the qualification of a teacher of Home Economics and Information Technologies – Principles of Design, Technologies of Textiles, Applied Engineering Sciences, Nutrition, Home Economics,

  • Computer Basics and Computer Hardware, Data Base, WWW Technologies, Basics of Programming and Data Structures, Administration of Computer Classrooms, IT in Education etc.;

  • elective courses;

  • the students write and defend the bachelor paper including pedagogical research in relation to household/home economics and information technologies.
