Leave the port and drive through the beautiful Schleswig-Holstein countryside to reach Ploen and its landmark historic castle set on a hill, overlooking a broad lake. We will embark on a delightful boat ride across the “Grosser Ploener” lake to reach Dersau. These waterways of this region are a popular tourist destination thanks to their winning combination of crystal clear waters, the medieval villages that line the shores and the huge shady forests that contribute to the magical, fairytale atmosphere. Next we will head for Bosau where a brief stop to take photographs of the Petri Church is scheduled; the church, dedicated to St. Peter, was built in 1151-52. We will continue to Eutin where you can see St. Michaelis Church and Eutin Castle next to the lovely market place. A typical, light German lunch will be served in Dersau. Return to Kiel.
