Channel your inner ice maiden or Arctic prince as you wrap up warm against the cold and get set to enjoy the gorgeous scenery en route to Endalen. Apart from its abundance of lush vegetation, the region is also noted for its interesting mining history, of which the so-called “Mine 5” is a lasting reminder. Designed to give you a quick taste of Longyearbyen’s main historical and cultural highlights as well as a look at the fascinating world of husky farming, this 2-hour tour begins with a visit to Svalbard Church, the world’s most northerly place of Christian worship. Next up is a visit to the husky farm; following an informative briefing at the farm, you will then be introduced to the dogs and learn a little about what dog mushing involves. Your return to the ship then brings your tour to a close.
