LSI-11 Microinstruction Sequencing The LSI-11 is a microcomputer version of a PDP-11, which is implemented using a microprogrammed control unit. The LSI-11 makes use of a bit microinstruction and a control memory of K bit words. The next microinstruction address is determined in one of five ways

Next sequential address In the absence of other instructions, the control unit’s control address register is incremented by 1.
•
Opcode mapping At the beginning of each instruction cycle, the next microinstruction address is determined by the opcode.
