PRIMARY FUNCTION(S)

Provide oversight to Space Fence Branch Business Operations Team, management of day-to-day branch operations and facilities concerns, and military and civilian personnel management expertise and support.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

: Ensure maintenance of Branch level management meeting schedules (e.g., Staff Meetings).

: Facilitate exercises/inspections (e.g., BREs, WMS activities, ORIs, audits), and support preparation of Branch historical report.

Front Office Support

PRIMARY FUNCTION(S)

Provides Personnel Data Processing Functional Support to complement the Acquisition Administration Support within the Space C2 & Surveillance Division (ESC/HSI) front office at Hanscom AFB MA.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

: Coordinate Hanscom AFB-based manpower actions with ESC/HSIOM and Directorate Human Resources (HR).

Provide technical and analytical support to combat development activities in preparation for a Material Development Decision (MDD) for High Altitude capabilities as defined by JP 3-14 of January 2009. Leverage existing and emerging results from a variety of studies, assessments, analyses, and technology demonstrations to assess the ability of non-material and material solutions to mitigate Army validated capability gaps and, as appropriate, to support an MDD. Is capable of performing as an overall project manager or working under a program manager. Is fully knowledgeable in all aspects of the technical areas involved in providing spectrum engineering support, engineering management and related inputs to the acquisition process. Information Assurance Specialist

Responsible for ensuring that operational security is maintained for a specific Information System (IS).
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

: Assist with developing and maintaining a formal IS security program.

Spectrum Management Specialist verify technical equipment specifications to ensure the data provided in spectrum applications are correct. Analyzes the frequencies already assigned in the proposed operational area for compatibility, considering emission, power, location of transmitters, height of antennas, aircraft operation altitude, and other critical equipment operating characteristics. Selects frequencies and identifies alternatives to fulfill new frequency requirements. Coordinate frequency related issues with government and non-government agencies. Knowledge of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Manual of Procedures for Federal Radio Frequency Management is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Has experience or extensive knowledge with the processes and procedures relative to Frequency Management. Coordinates reviews and supervises work of assigned staff. Reviews/oversees preparation of all related documentation; conducts program reviews, meetings, etc. Works independently under general guidelines or objectives set by supervisor. Employs a high degree of creativity, foresight and judgment to plan, organize and guide programs. Additionally the following specific tasks must be performed:

: Reviews the frequency assignment proposals to determine whether or not these proposals, if approved, would result in technical conflicts with existing frequency assignments.

: Reviews the frequency assignment proposals for compliance with applicable policy, regulations, and procedures, and recommend corrective action when necessary; understand and use the National Table of Frequency Allocations, various assignment plans, restrictions, rules and procedures for authorizing frequency assignments.

: Performs interference analysis, frequency nomination and processing using Spectrum XXI and the Government Master File (GMF).

The Chemical and Biological Defense Systems Group develops systems and technology for disaster preparedness, detection, mitigation, and attribution, with emphasis on chemical and biological defense. Principal sponsors are the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense. The work of this group is highly interdisciplinary; as a result, the backgrounds of the researchers are diverse, including engineering (electrical, mechanical, chemical, biomedical), physics, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, and biology. Rigorous systems analyses produce system architectures and recommend research areas to guide government investment. These analyses are grounded by modeling and simulation of threats and defenses and by data analysis. Sensor development is conducted at several levels, including initial measurements of detection signatures, proof-of-concept experiments for biological or chemical assay or electro-optic sensors, integration into autonomous sensors along with development of the associated electronics and algorithms, and rigorous field-testing in relevant environments. The group develops and tests multitechnology integrated systems in operational settings. The integrated systems include significant algorithm development to fuse multisource information. Emerging thrusts in the group include support for additional Homeland Security missions, natural disaster management, forensics, and electronics and algorithm support for other customer missions.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

A software engineer is needed with experience in the development of network-centric software tools based on a Service-Oriented Architectures to enable the coordinated transfer of a broad range of information and data among multiple parties.
