Using models and sketches, guide students to discuss the differences among types of arches. Display models of various arches and assist students to examine each type. Discuss the importance of arches in building construction with students in groups. Demonstrate how to construct arches. Guide students to construct arches to meet given conditions. Students to explain the differences in types of arches. Students to state why arches are used in the building industry. Students to construct selected arches.
