The marriage (22APR1851) came after birth of child (10NOV1850) and census (30MAR1851). ELIZA possibly took surname Coon after her parents’ marriage. Eliza Coon was informant at the death of Patty Tregenza (widow of THOMAS engine driver) and was present at her death. However letter from Sheryn Dean 1994 about her maternal grandparents ‘Robert Coon and MARIA neé Tregenza married near St Austell before 1849. Their children were Eliza, Robert and maybe more. Robert Coon died after 1849 and Maria remarried. She died in NZ [New Zealand] as Maria Rowe’.
