Documentation Standards Guidelines

The organisation’s technical documentation is written and structured within a framework of specific standards. Documentation standards provide guidelines for producing documents as well as for their reproduction or delivery to users within and outside the organisation.

The below figure illustrates how standards are an essential starting point for creating technical documentation and are applied to the design of documents and their later development and production. Standards also apply to client sign-off on technical documentation.
