Charging the e-AR sensor and mobile hub

When you are not using the e-AR sensor, both it and the mobile hub should be charged with the mains charger (pictured), and cables supplied.
The cables from the charger plug into the small socket on top of the e-AR sensor (see picture) and on the side of the mobile hub.
Care should be taken to orientate the plug and socket the correct way round. Coloured dots are marked on the plugs and sockets to assist you (CHECK).
The e-AR sensor and mobile hub should be left to charge until you next wish to use them. It does not matter which lead plugs into which device. The sensor takes (Benny – how long?) to reach its full charge.

Using the e-AR sensor

It is not expected that you will wear the e-AR sensor continuously. However, it is useful that you use it as often and for as long a period of time that you are comfortable and that is convenient. For instance, 2 hours every evening may be acceptable.

Ideally, it is best to try and wear the e-AR sensor at a similar time of day each time.

Before use the e-AR sensor and mobile hub should both be unplugged from the mains charger.

The e-AR sensor is worn on the right ear, hooked over the ear such that the sensor sits behind the ear and against the side of the head. Are there diagrams showing how to hook it on – i.e. hold horizontal first. If your e-AR sensor has the additional wired clip to monitor pulse rate and blood oxygen level, this should be clipped onto your ear lobe. A correctly worn e-AR sensor with clip is shown in the picture.

The mobile hub should be kept close by when you are wearing the e-AR sensor. It can be in your pocket or clipped onto your belt.

Accessing the SAPHE Information screens on your TV

During the Trial information from the SAPHE system may be provided which you will be able to view on your television or on the separate SAPHE television if one has been provided.

To access this information you will need to select the appropriate input channel on the television to connect to the SAPHE Set-Top Box. For reference this has been noted on the front page of this guide.

At the start of the trial just a simple SAPHE welcome screen will be displayed indicating that the SAPHE system is working. When information is ready to be made available we will inform you and provide details of how you can access it.

Information on positioning the bed sensor

The bed sensor will have been installed under the mattress of your bed. It is possible for the sensor to move from its best position – this might be as a result of changing bed linen, for instance. For best results, the bed sensor should be positioned at hip level as you lie on the bed (as shown in the diagrams).

In the case of a double bed: The sensor mat should be positioned on the side of the bed you most usually sleep on. The mat should positioned such that the end with the cable attached is nearest the bed edge and approximately 10-15 cm (4-6”) from the edge.
