CAMP PATHWAY

Camp Pathway is a Christian Summer Day Camp Program located on the scenic property of Hephzibah Ministries, Inc. Camp Pathway provides activities to entertain, challenge, and build character for the children in our community. This year, we will have approximately 140-160 children in the program ranging in age from 5 to 15. Camp Pathway will operate for ten weeks beginning the first week of June. Camp hours are 9 am - 4 pm. However, some take advantage of the pre-camp and post-camp hours and arrive as early at 7:00 am and staying as late as 6 pm.

One of the crucial elements to successfully reaching the children who attend Camp Pathway are volunteers. We would not have as great an impact on these young lives without the generous support of our volunteers. So, THANK YOU.

Beyond the camp connections and devotional time, most volunteers will spend time with the children through the small groups. Other volunteers may assist with specific areas of the camp, such as arts & crafts, archery, pool time, etc. During the week the children and volunteers develop deep relationships with each other, many that last far beyond Camp Pathway.
What to Wear to Camp Pathway:
**Appropriate summer play clothes (short pants & t-shirts – no midriff shirts, short shorts or spaghetti strap shirts), socks, and tennis shoes. Boys pants must fit – no baggy pants with underwear showing.

**Flip flops and Crocs are not permitted! It is primarily a safety issue.

**Jewelry is discouraged.

**We request modest swim suits for all, preferably one-piece suits for girls.

NOTE: Because the State of Georgia requires that anyone working with children must have a criminal background records performed, everyone on your team over the age of 18 must have a background records check performed prior to your arrival. This can be done through Hephzibah’s ‘protectmyministry.com’ account for a price of $12 per background check. Tom Taylor, the HCH Volunteer Coordinator, will provide you with the details on obtaining these after all other paperwork has been submitted.
For those of your work team that are under the age of 18 (and no younger than 15), we require a personal reference letter from at least two persons that will verify the character of that work team member. It should indicate how long that person has known the under-age individual on your team, what types of activities they have been involved in for children, what other types of activities they’ve been involved in at your church that would prepare them for this day camp ministry, and any personal comments they would like to make regarding the under-age individual. The reference letters should also be provided prior to your arrival.
