VOLUNTEER STANDARDS OF CONDUCT
All volunteers of Hephzibah Children Home will make these “standards of conduct” a daily part of their work routine at Hephzibah Children’s Home.

   Daily conduct with fellow volunteers and HCH staff will be with kindness, understanding and always in a professional manner.
   

3. 
   Always show respect to immediate supervisors and other volunteers.
   

4. 
   Abide by the rules and regulations that are established in order to fulfill any volunteer job responsibly.
   

5. 
   Do not willfully do anything that will place the agency at risk with state and federal regulations.
   

6. 
   Do not do anything that will place any resident at risk of being injured, hurt or unsafe in any way.
   

7. 
   Always uphold the Christian standard in daily conduct, in what is said and done.

   Be faithful and punctual in volunteer job performance.

   Always travel in twos, never be alone.
   

10. 
    Carry out all volunteer job responsibilities to the best of your ability.

   Verbal Warning will be given for non-serious offenses.
   
2. 
   Conversation with Camp Director.
   
3. 
   Offender will be removed from contact with kids immediately.
   
4. 
   Written statements from eye witnesses will be collected.
   
5. 
   Based on outcome, the offender may be sent home immediately at their own expense.
   

Under NO circumstances should any group of children be left unsupervised during an emergency.

1. 
   In Case of Fire
   
   1. 
      Be familiar with the location, type and operation of fire extinguishers in buildings.
      
   2. 
      Know two exits of evacuation from the building.
      
   3. 
      Upon sighting an out-of-control fire, remove everyone from immediate danger.
      
   4. 
      Alert Office. The office will call the fire department.
      
   5. 
      Sound fire alarm, if available.
      
2. 
   In Case of Storm
   
   1. 
      Tornado siren will sound
      
   2. 
      Be familiar with the location.
      
   3. 
      Move to the most inside area of the nearest building, away from windows
      
   4. 
      If away from buildings look for the a dip in the land or a ditch if available
      
   5. 
      Remain inside until tornado siren has stopped

1. 
   Identify 1 or 2 members of your group to head up your meal coordination.
   
2. 
   Check with your team for any dietary needs or restriction they may have.
   
3. 
   Discuss with your team when and how you would like to interact with the residents.
   
4. 
   Create a suggested menu for your team’s meals.
   
5. 
   Communicate all of the information back to the Volunteer Coordinator who will arrange for items to be available on campus for your team’s meal preparations.
   

If your team is staying on campus in the Guest House Apartments or in the Elizabeth Home, we will stock the kitchen for you, unless you wish to do your own shopping.
