Chris- This is true while those stats are important its more about the memories you make I can agree to that. U have been around 5 th BORO since the first season what is the biggest difference. From now and then.. Any basketball.. Softball.. Football

James- When the softball league first begun it was offered for free and we had to sneak

into the fields to play. We played for pure enjoyment and love of the game we

had 6 teams and we all played the same days. Now softball is up to 60 teams

that's huge growth in just a few seasons. No matter the size of the league we

still hold true to the values of a small close knit league. Basketball was a

3on3 league that was played outdoors my team had made it into the championship

we had the leading scorer Anthony "money" Monroe. I also played a game in the

football league before I had to retire in the first season I had 5 interceptions

in the first game. It's things like that you'll always remember 5th Boros

leagues give you something more valuable than money it's something you'll

cherish forever.

Chris- That was crazy Matt pEACH Was a bum and no matter how many picks we got he kept throwing picks himself lol. What Would you say has been the biggest upgrade of the many changes to 5 th BORO football so far this winter season..
James- The biggest change we've made to football is our execution this year were on

point last year we had to work out all the kinks. Every aspect of the league has

improved this year the referees went through training courses in the offseason

to expand and refresh their knowledge of the sport and rules. We also have added

a third referee to each game to have another set of eyes to make sure the game

is ran smoother. We've also changed the belts to a three flag system which a lot

of teams had asked us to do.
Chris- I’m stubborn but when the people talk you have to listen and I AM Glad we all took into account what people said in order to improve the league. Where do u see the league going and why should someone choose our league over another league?
James- The league will only continue to grow and get better season to season. We offer

stats photos videos Instagram Facebook Twitter team stats rankings team bios we

have a website comparable to a professional sports league. We take this very

serious and understand the hard work it takes to bring you the best product I

love what I and am working to make this something really special. The true

question is why are you not signed up for the next season come join the family

and embrace the pleasant atmosphere we offer and friendly competition.
Chris- Nothing can top that… As far as this season goes Who team has surprised u so far and who do u feel is the team to beat.. Going into week 4.. In the football league
James- The big surprise this Saturday was a victory by the Hurricanes. Why do you say

this is a surprise they have walked onto the field 14 times and this was there

first win they come out and play hard every week I applaud there efforts. So far

the best looking team is the 48ers there defense has only given up 7 points

there offense needs a little work but it's early in the season.
Chris- Sal and ZBT Hurricanes must have been pretty pumped up after that victory. I asked him and he said he honestly never thought his team would get a win LOL! They added a new QB that must have been the difference. Lets keep this moving What would u like to see change in 5th BORO for the better in any sport...
James- The reason our league get better and better is we sit down and work out any

issues any member brings to us. We realize you as the teams are what keeps the

leagues running so we need your input to give you the league you want so

continue to let us know what's on your mind we love to hear it.

Chris- True statement… U also do stats in the basketball league along with playing what improvements have been made In that league since you first started playing and what direction do u see that league going in... Are u excited for the softball season any upgrades to team rugged and the 5 on 5 league thoughts on that..
James- As for softball I'm always excited for the upcoming season. Like anyone else I'm

chasing that chip I need one it's been a long time since I've won a chip in

softball. Softball gives you everything you love man sunshine friends and ball

can't beat it. I'm playing with Mikey Ohh this season we may not field a Rugged

team this would be a sad first in the history of 5th Boro.
Chris- Rugged isn’t the same anymore I guess after everything that transpired it isn’t worth doing if we don’t have the right people in place. What was it like winning the first ever home run derby.. How much money would u pay to go back in time to that time period of the roots of 5 th BORO and being that young again.

James- Taking me back to my younger years when I won that home run derby I hit more

home runs in one round then all the other contestants combined I went beast mode

that year I wish I still had those youthful legs.

I am good at serving home runs its what I DO! Who u got as your Super Bowl pick?

James- My Super Bowl pick is Peyton and the broncos. Thank you for letting me speak

love you guys and this league this is my family.
Chris- Alright keep up the good work and I'm proud of how u have handled the football league thus far I no it's not an easy task but u have done a great job in proud of u n wish u success for many years to come... Thanks for joining us today and lets continue the football leagues growth and keep up the good work.

5th Boro Sports teamed up with the lovely girls of XIO Sorority to have a nice night out for our players, family and friends. I would like to thank anyone who came out that night and supported our cause of raising money for families who were affected by the Hurricane. I personally lost my house and many of my clothes, furniture, pictures and non replacing belongings. So many people reached out to me from the Strongkids foundation so I knew this is where I wanted to donate because the funds will get in the right peoples hands. Not only do they have a monetary donation but potentially give them counseling, or free gym memberships, camps, or sports classes. My personal goal was to raise at least one thousand dollars and not only did we do that we raised 2 thousand!!! Thank you to big nose kates for hosting us and we truly had a great time. We plan on having future events with the girls such as a leukemia flag football game, and a carnival at the end of the school year for autism.

Hey I'm with mike Frish who has played on a variety of different teams in 5th BORO and has been playing for several years so I thought he'd be a great candidate for the 1st magazine of 2014 so let's get into the questions

Chris- what are your expectations for your flag football team the avengers this winter season?
MIKE- Expectations are always high . It's our second season for flag football and switching from rough touch to flag wasn't easy but we have made the adjustments and we are excited for the upcoming season . We have the talent we just need to cut down on the key mistakes .
Chris- It was def not your fault your production has been high and a lot of the offense went through you in the fall season as you racked up the catches... How did u develop such a great chemistry with the qb brian Morgan?

Mike- Yes I had a big season in my first flag year . Me and Morgan developed chemistry from the rough touch league we were in . I was his blanket and he probably trusted me the most in crunch time . I told Morgan I'm not talk but put the ball in my area and I'm coming down with it . I still remember playing the best team in this rough touch league and we had 54 second on the clock to go 70 yards and we had a 4th and 28 and I came up with the catch over two people and also had the td to win the game with 3 seconds left .

Chris- Solid season in your debut you old man lol.. never the less you came up a little short this past season in softball after running through most of he competition what are your expectation for your teams in 2014?
Mike- We came a long way in softball and was very disappointed that we lost they way we did . I was hurting bad I shouldn't have even been playing . We lost Ryan Mannello so we had to play someone in the field that we didn't want to . But I expect big things from Pineapple Express and our motto is we smoke competition .
Chris- You guys have def came a long way so tell me what's it like being a captain on Pineapple Express and being more or a role player on walls of Jericho..?
Mike- Being a captain is very stressful . Making sure all you're guys will be at the game . Making sure you can field a team and set the right lineup as to being a role player you can just have fun and just worry about doing you're job .
Chris- This is true I think honestly being a captain is harder then running the league itself that’s why I gave it up… pineapple has gone from one of the worst teams in the league to one of the best what was the biggest transaction that brought u to that elite level or is it simply just playing?
Mike- I think picking up a few guys has been key . Ryan Mannello with the bat and Steve Amato with the pitching and our defense has really stepped . We have been making some highlight plays in the field . But I also think we all have developed a chemistry and the guys that have been here since the beginning have really stepped there games up as well .
Chris- I love seeing the growth of your squad its awesome how well you have been able to turn things around I’m proud of you. How have u become one of the leagues best short stops? What have u done different from years past
Mike- That's my favorite part about my game is my glove and I have came a long way and now I really hold it down at short . In the beginning I was playing short and second and third at the same time . Now we have guys that make me better around me and put some pressure off me . But honest just taking grounders and practicing . I need to work on my hitting haha . You have to hear players . Don't take a big lead when anything is hit to short haha . I had like three. Double plays on line outs that game . The bases loaded one was my favorite . I had to jump crazy high and then doubled them up at third
Chris- I know exactly which play you are talking about.. that was a crazy good play ahha… So tell me I’ve known you a long time where do u plan on going on your honeymoon as one of the first 5th BORO couples
Mike- Haha holy shit I'm going to married in a year haha. . We haven't decided just yet . but we are playing these sports and eating better and working out so we can look how we did when we first met haha . 5th boro has helped big time with that . Thank cig
Chris- That’s cool I’m glad to play such a big role in ya life I didn’t even realize that… Well is anything less then a championship deemed a failure for u at this point at softball. Or can you have a good year without winning?
Mike- Nobody wants a championship more than I do . And I feel our team has a shot to win it every year . We just need to get over that hump
Chris- Sounds good well go over the experience of playing under the lights at the all star game for softball?
Mike- unfortunately I couldn't make the all star games I made it to due to scheduling . But phill Mancuso my team mate who made it last summer said it was a blast and he even had 4 hits that game.

Chris- Yes your right I’m shot I forgot you were not their that’s to bad but tell the reads who may not play here in 5th boro what do u think of playing 5th BORO since the third season in terms of competition or whatever else u want to say

Mike- The leagues are fun and inexpensive . I know we had some scheduling issues in the past but we worked it out . The competition is awesome and it's cool to see old faces .
Chris- thanks for playing ya scheduling wasn’t as easy as it appears but we do our best well happy new year and we wish u goodluck for these up coming winter seasons if u have anything to say to the people reading this go ahead and comment .. Thanks!
Mike- Likewise . For the people that took the time to read my interview it's appreciated and I'm looking forward to winter and spring and summer and fall sports for 2014 ! And a shout out to my team mates from Pineapple Express and the avengers and the melon heads and the fab five and the walls of Jericho . Thank cig

Well that concludes this months magazine thanks for reading it I HOPE WE KEPT YOU ENTERTAINED WITH EVERYTHING 5TH BORO FOR THE PAST MONTH TUNE IN NEXT MONTH FOR MORE UPDATED AND MORE THINGS 5TH BORO… AND WE WILL HAVE AN EVEN BETTER MAGAZINE NEXT MONTH… AND REMEMBER WORKING HARD BEATS TALENT EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK 5TH BORO FOR LIFE!!

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.—John Wooden
