  1. Open “Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager” on MicroStrategy server. Press mouse button on server (1st step on Picture 18) and then double click on Authentication (2nd step on Picture 18).

Note: Do not enter user credentials while defining a new configuration. In the process of testing the linking to concrete dashboard doesn’t worked with defined user credentials. Users will be prompted for their Windows account credentials the first time they access the application, and their credentials will be saved for subsequent logins.

When configuration is saved, there are two ways to use it: 1. Generate URL for mobile device (it works with official MicroStrategy Mobile application from App Store) or 2. Use configuration file while recompiling Dashboard to native Application for mobile device (this is used for recompiled apps for internal app store).

  1. Generate URL for mobile device: click on World icon (Picture 31)

Picture Generating URL

In the opened window, select Windows Authentication mode (1st step on Picture 32). After that, click Generate URL button (2nd step on Picture 32) and copy the whole URL (3rd step on Picture 32).

Picture Generating URL

Send this URL to your mobile device (via e-mail or other possible way) and open this URL with your mobile device (make sure that MicroStrategy Mobile application is installed in your device) This URL will link you directly to the MicroStrategy Mobile application and launch the selected project or dashboard (what was defined in configuration). Configuration will be saved in MicroStrategy Mobile application until you opened another URL of configuration.

  1. Using configuration file: all saved configuration files are placed on X:/Program Files/MicroStrategy/Mobile Server/WEB-INF/xml/mobile directory (Picture 33). Those files could be used for recompiling MicroStrategy reports or dashboards to native Mobile device applications later on.
