Agreement for Computing Teacher Development - 2008
Teachers with no programming experience can take the Computing in the Modern World workshop. Teachers should teach the Computing in the Modern World course as soon as possible after taking the workshop, but at least within the year. After a year of teaching this material, teachers can take the Beginning Programming in Java workshop.
Teachers with some programming experience can take the Beginning Programming in Java workshop. Teachers should teach the Beginning Programming course as soon as possible after taking this workshop, but at least within the next 2 years. After a year or two of teaching this material a teacher can take the Intermediate Programming in Java workshop.
Teachers with Java programming experience can start with the Intermediate Programming in Java workshop. They can teach the Beginning Programming course and/or the new Intermediate Programming course for a year or two before taking the AP workshop and teaching the AP course.
Teachers with one year or more of Java teaching experience can take both the Intermediate Programming in Java workshop and the AP Workshop the same summer.
Teachers must have a year or more of teaching Java experience before taking the AP workshop! Teachers with no programming experience should teach Computing in the Modern World and/or Beginning Programming before taking the AP workshop!
