| Apple Not Doing Well in Court—it’s About Time
Quinn Keenan January 11, 2016 Apple is currently in court with Samsung over a patent dispute and Apple isn't doing well and one might think that it serves them right. Apple seems to be a company you like or hate. Whatever side you land on, Apple haters are have good reasons to dislike the company. Not all Apple haters have valid reasons to dislike it, but there are plenty out there. Apple was told in 2008 that iTunes had a flaw where a hacking software could spy on iTunes users. Apple didn't fix the flaw until 20111 Brian Krebs, a computer security writer, wrote in a blog post that Apple took 91 days on average to fix security issues.2 "The security and privacy of our users is extremely important,” an Apple spokeswoman announced.1 Fixing the flaw definitely wasn't at the top of their to-do list. Apple has also been under fire for mistreating their factory workers a few years ago. A BBC investigation revealed that the workers at the factory were very tired and had too many shifts. "Even if I was hungry I wouldn't want to get up to eat. I just wanted to lie down and rest. I was unable to sleep at night because of the stress," one worker says. "We are aware of no other company doing as much as Apple to ensure fair and safe working conditions," Apple says.3 One R.H. King student, who wanted to be anonymous, said that they were glad that Apple was having trouble with the Samsung case.
