SPEC W/ BLUE /GOLD diverticulosis, diverticulitis

SPEC W/ BLUE /GOLD /NP HALLGREN hemorrhoids, rectal or anal bleeding, anal skin tags, pruritis ani, pilonidal disase, anal abscess or fistula

SPEC W/ DR. POTHULA OR DR. HENRY inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis/ Chron’s), complex anorectal dx- anal fissure, chronic fistula, incontinence, rectal prolapse, condyloma, anal dysplasia, HIV screening for anal cancer, any anal/rectal/colon

*Dr. Pothula & Dr. Henry will only see patients for colorectal dx



ASAP/STAT pusher call 24 HR on-call surgeon @ (619) 453-7013

Direction will be given to direct patient to walk-in (8-12PM)to clinic if warranted.



SPEC W/ GOLD TEAM or CHIEF CLINIC RUQ or epigastric pain, symptomatic cholelithiasis, biliary colic, biliary dyskinesia, U/S w/ gallstones SPEC W/ DR. WISBACH female age 18-50 (clinical study candidates)

SPEC w/ GOLD TEAM, BLUE TEAM OR CHIEF CLINIC Unilateral inguinal, umbilical or epigastric SPEC W/ DR. WISBACH or BARBICK sports hernia, athletic pubalgia, groin strain (needs MRI sports hernia w/in 1 yr,) SPEC w/ DRs. GALLUS, WISBACH, or BARBICK ventral, incisional or bilateral inguinal hernia,

* NP Hallgren does not see abdominal hernia cases

Special Instructions:

-Non-active duty patients <18 years old – send to Pediatric Surgery - any concern for cancer, schedule SPEC w/CHAN, RIVERA or OSENI P1 except for colorectal cancer- sched P1 w/ Dr. Pothula or Dr. Henry - superficial soft tissue masses: ganglion cysts/ cysts of wrist: refer to Ortho - rectus diastasis: refer to Plastic - if concern for renal disease (e.g. cancer) refer to Urology - IBS, diarrhea, constipation, black tarry stools, asymptomatic anemia, hematemesis refer to GI; -P1: appt w/in 7 days of consult - Patient is est for 3 yr for same diagnosis. New diagnosis needs new consult -Inpatient request must go through RED TEAM @ 619 453 7013 - CANCER = P1: APPT W/IN 7 DAYS - 01/12/15 If redirecting to requesting provider for any reason, push to Gen Surg AOP as INFO NEEDED w/your redirecting note; send tasking message to requesting provider

SPEC W/ GALLUS, BARBICK, BOGANEY (GOLD TEAM) OR RIVERA, OSENI (BLUE TEAM) P1- symptomatic thyroid disorders: thyroid nodule, thyroid cancer, multinodular thyroid or multinodular goiter, Graves’ disease, parathyroid disorders: hyperparathyroidism, parathyroid adenoma, parathyroid cancer adrenal disorders: pheochromocytoma, Cushing’s disease aldosteronoma, adrenal cortical carcinoma, adrenal nodule or mass

SPEC W/ GOLD/BLUE/CHIEF TEAM lipoma, epidermal inclusion cyst, pilonidal cyst, lump

- Breast disease or gynecomastia: refer to Breast Health Center SPEC W CHAN, RIVERA & OSENI P1 - Melanoma/ Sarcoma

* NP Hallgren does not see soft tissue cases

SPEC W/ GOLD/ CHIEF : GERD, peptic ulcer disease, esophagitis, upper abd pain, dysphagia, motility disorder SPEC W/ DRs GALLUS, WISBACH, or BARBICK surgery for GERD (e.g. fundoplication), achalasia, hiatal hernia SPEC W/ CHAN, RIVERA, OSENI P1 – Gastric/esophageal cancer.

GRP closed to Active Duty age 18-65, PREREQ: BMI >/=40 or >/=35 w/ weight related comorbidity (DMII, HTEN, HLP, GERD, OSA, PCOS, OA, DJD), ht/wt within 6 mo. consult for weight loss surgery. Send questionnaire to patient must be filled prior to session.

PUSH CONSULT TO GENERAL SURGERY previous bariatric surgery; age >65 , BMI >/35 and <40 without comorbidity r/t weight
