Complete the feeder and collector fiber optic ribbon splices in Tyco Electronics Fiber Optic Splice Closures (FOSCs). Test fiber optic lines with OWL Visual Fault Locator (VFL), Optical Loss Test Set (OLTS), and Optical Time Domain Reflectometry (OTDR) test equipment.

  • MDU Survey - June 2016: Work on behalf of AT&T, in Dallas, Texas, while completing a MDU pre-installation survey of an apartment campus. Prepare MDU survey report.

Subsea Interface Manager

Contractor reporting to the Delta Subsea, LLC, Subsea Project Manager while working on behalf of Seaway Heavy Lifting in The Woodlands, Texas, USA, supporting their EPCI contract for the Cardon IV Perla Early Field Development project offshore Venezuela in 62+ meter (204+ feet) water depths. Attended project meetings. Prepared Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Diving Services, Pipe Joint Field Joint Coating (FJC) Services, and Pipe FJC and NDT equipment procurement. Reviewed and commented on proposals and procedures. Monitored work at fabrication and cargo barge load out work sites. Provided advice, engineering calculations, and recommendations to support the following activities.

  • Umbilical: Review and comment on umbilical installation procedures and storyboard illustrations for one (1) each 89 mm diameter Oceaneering SSIV umbilical with first end j-tube pull-in, second end lay down, and hook-up to an SSIV by Divers. Monitor transpooling, hydrostatic testing, and load-out at Oceaneering Solutions facility in Panama City, Florida, USA.

  • Fiber Optic Cable (FOC): Review and comment on FOC installation procedures and storyboard illustrations for three (3) each 23 mm diameter Nexans FOC first end j-tube pull-in, second end lay down, and hook-up to the SDU with ROVs and Divers. Design cable cradle for FOC handling. Monitor cable cradle fabrication and witness proof load testing.

  • System Integration Testing (SIT): Review and comment on SSIV installation procedures and storyboard illustrations. Monitor Subsea Safety Isolation Valve (SSIV) System Integration Testing (SIT), including connecting Umbilical Subsea Termination Head (SUTH) to SSIV and Topside Umbilical Termination Assembly (TUTA), SSIV valve operations through the TUTA, hydrostatic pressure testing the umbilical hydraulic control line through the TUTA to the SSIV panel, and hydrostatic pressure testing the SSIV closed valve on each 30 inch diameter ends at Dynamic Industries, New Iberia, Louisiana, USA, yard.

  • Field Joint Coating: Prepare pipe tie-in spool FJC procedure and inspection test plan. Coordinate test equipment procurement to complete FJC for five (5) each 31 inch diameter and seven (7) each 14 inch diameter API 5L X65 tie-in spools provided as 29 pipe sections for assembly offshore after completing hydro acoustic metrology for 20 field welds.

  • Pipe Spool Installation: Review and comment on pipe tie-in spool rigging plans, installation procedures, and storyboard illustrations. Prepare tie-in spool grout bag support and lift bag placement calculations for Divers. Prepare tie-in spool rigging calculations and plans for Divers.

  • Riser Spool Installation: Prepare riser tie-in spool misalignment calculations and recommendations for cut lengths, flange orientation, installation, and welding sequence.

  • Cargo Barge Load-Out and Off-Hire: Company representative during load-out and sea fastening of cargo barge JMC-260 in New Iberia, Louisiana, and off-hire of JMC-267 in Morgan City, Louisiana. Monitor seafastening welding, plus seafastening removal and deck undercut repair work during off hire.

  • Welding Surveillance, Fabrication: Company representative at T-REX Engineering & Fabrication, Houston, Texas, USA yard during surveillance of welding fabrication and truck loading of jacket and deck sea fastening sub-assemblies.

  • Jacket, Welding Surveillance, Fabrication, & Cargo Barge Load Out: Attend meetings and site visits. Review and comment on rigging and load plans, procedures, and drawings. Supervise two Operations Engineers, three Methods Engineers, and four Field Engineers during the surveillance of welding fabrication, NDT, erection, and cargo barge load out of four 84 mt jackets, including grout piles, boat landings, and other appurtenances at the Denholm Yam facility in ICAD 2, Abu Dhabi.

  • Jacket Installation: Supervise four Field Engineers aboard the DLB-1600 during the installation of the North Flare Platform including jacket and pile rigging, lifting, pile drilling and grouting, SMAW welding, NDT, and field joint coating. Interface with Client representatives and advise the DLB Superintendent as needed.

  • Pipeline, Cable, J-Tube Pull, & Shore Approach: Attend meetings and site visits. Review and comment on procedures and drawings for the installation of ten pipelines, including three with steel tube and composite cable bundles and nine pipeline shore-pulls. Work on Zirku Island, during the shore pull site preparation supervising 2 Field Engineers and a crew of Riggers and Mechanics. Work offshore aboard the DLB -1600 supervising 4 Field Engineers during the 12 inch pipeline and 120 mm JDR Engineering cable bundle installation and pull-in. Monitor pipe joint resupply, beveling, automatic GMAW welding, SMAW repair welding, AUT, and field joint coating. Prepare detailed installation procedures and work packages to supplement the procedures prepared by others with less experience. Interface with Client representatives and advise the DLB Superintendent as needed. Monitor production schedules and prepare forecasts.

  • Pipeline Buckle Investigation: Work offshore as a Subject Matter Expert aboard the DLB-1600. Provide advice and recommendations during a pipeline buckle investigation.

  • Jacket, Welding Surveillance, Fabrication and Cargo Barge Loat Out: Review, comment, and provide advice on project rigging and load plans, procedures, and preparations. Surveillance of welding fabrication, NDT, erection, movement, rigging, and cargo barge load-out of two 500 mt and one 600 mt jackets at the Adyard facility in ICAD 1, Abu Dhabi. Attend meetings and advise the Essar ONGC project team in Mumbai, India, and Singapore.

  • Installation Vessel Mobilization: Direct and advise the Essar representatives and subcontractors while serving as Company representative aboard the chartered installation vessel, Cal Dive DLB Sea Horizon, during the on-hire survey, mobilization, and equipment load-out in Singapore.
